How to use aromatherapy candles to create a welcoming atmosphere

Burning aromatherapy candles scented with pure essential oils is a wonderful way to add fragrance to a room. Not only does an aromatherapy candle smell nice, it can have therapeutic effects on the body and mind. Essential oils are extracted from certain aromatic plants and are used by aromatherapists to promote emotional and physical well being. When a few drops of a particular plant essence is added to a candle, its powerful aroma molecules are diffused into the surrounding air as the wax melts. When inhaled, the fragrance can help soothe and revitalize.

Aromatherapy scented candles can be made with oils from various types of plants. Aromatherapy essential oils can be made from different parts of plants, including flowers, berries, leaves and bark. As well as having a unique natural perfume, they have many different healing qualities. For instance, lavender is well known for its relaxing properties. When added to a jar candle, it can be used to create a soothing and peaceful atmosphere. The rich aroma of sandalwood can help ease feelings of anxiety and stress. As well as being used individually, oils can be used in blends to create uniquely fragranced candles. For example, a seasonal Christmas blend could include mandarin, cinnamon, clove or nutmeg. Or a refreshing mix of oils could include peppermint, lemon, rosemary or bergamot to help stimulate the senses.

For maximum aromatherapy benefits, candles should be made from natural based ingredients that don't release toxins as they burn. Aromatherapy soy candles made from soybean wax are a popular option, as these are considered better for the environment than petroleum based candles. It's worth reading the labels when buying a candle to make sure it contains pure aromatherapy oil and no synthetic fragrances or dyes. Using scented candles in the home is a simple but effective way of influencing the mood of a room, to create a tranquil and harmonious environment. Products such as candles, oil burners or other types of aromatherapy diffusers can make inexpensive gifts and offer a natural alternative to chemical air fresheners.

Adding aromatherapy candles to the home is a quick and easy way to enhance the atmosphere in a room and create a peaceful space to unwind in at the end of a busy day.

Pool tournament eve and can t sleep

The title Pool Tournament Eve above would be more accurate if it said day instead of eve. As I type this article, 4:36 in the morning, March 1, 2008, I should be sleeping.

Tomorrow is the annual Dr Cue Tournament here in Pueblo Colorado. Billiards is pretty popular here in Pueblo. This tournament is the largest held here. Players come from all over the State of Colorado and sometimes a few other states. We have 2 BCA (Billiards Congress of America) National Champions residing here in Pueblo along with many other players who shoot lights out.

Dr. Cue (Tom Rossman) puts on a trick shot exhibition the night before the tournament. I attended this show last night where I payed my entry fee of $40 and watched Tom put on a great show as usual.

The pool hall where this tournament is played is about 15 minutes from my house. I made it home by 10:30 PM and finally fell asleep around 11:30. Right on nice job. Get some rest before the tournament. Not.

My eyes popped open around five till two and I have not been able to get back to sleep. Thursday night wasn’t much better because I only slept about 4 hours. I am hoping that writing this post gets me tired.

I will be bringing my lap top to this tournament and plan to report on the event between my matches. I will also be bringing my video camera which is also a pretty cool digital camera. This should make for some cool reporting and hopefully some interesting and exciting content.

Between a couple of brain freeze attacks and and watching some billiards on my DVR another half hour has gone by. It is now 5 in the morning and I must be present in the pool hall by 10:00 AM. Ouch. Don’t they know that pool players are not early risers by nature?

Well maybe my plan is working. I just experienced a yawning attack. I think I will attempt to get about 3 or 4 more hours sleep time in before the big Dr Cue Pool Tournament today.

That’s it for now.

To Your Run Out Success,

Ted

Credit card rights - what rights do you have

So you've thought about getting a credit card, but all you've heard about from parents, friends, co-workers, and the like is that they are just trouble. Horror stories of over limit charges, finance charges, late fees, mysterious charges, telemarketers, and missing bills dance through your head like sugar plumb fairies in children on Christmas Eve. It’s important to know, going into your first, or even your fifth credit card experience, that as a credit card holder, you have certain rights that go along with your responsibilities.

Here’s a rundown of some your credit card rights:

Prompt Credit for Payment:

Your creditor is required to post payment received within twenty four hours of receiving it. In order to insure that this system goes smoothly from your end, make sure that you make yourself familiar with the payment procedures for your card.

Refunds of Credit Balances:

If you overpay your credit card bill, that is the total amount, not a specific monthly bill, you have a right to receive a credit on your account. You can also request that the credit card issuer send you a refund of the over-paid balance. This only applies if you have completely paid off the total amount, and have issued additional payment. It does not apply to an overpayment of a monthly minimum. If you overpay your balance, your creditor will automatically credit your account the additional funds, which you will not be required to re-pay, as it is your money. However, if you submit written request for a refund of the balance, they must issue you a refund within seven days of receipt of your request.

Resolution of Errors:

If you feel as though there is an error on your billing statement, you must submit a written complaint within sixty days of the error's occurrence. An investigation must follow within two billing cycles, and no later than ninety days of receiving the complaint. This is federal law, and for more information you can contact the Federal Trade Commission.

Removal of Unauthorized Charges:

If your card is lost or stolen, report it immediately. Following a lost or stolen report, the cardholder is not liable for any charges. If you find fraudulent charges on your account, you can be held accountable for up to fifty dollars per card. However, fifty dollars is the most you will owe for unauthorized charges, even if the thief uses your card to access an ATM machine. The best way to avoid any payments on your behalf for stolen goods is to report a missing or stolen card as soon as you discover it missing. This way, the company will cancel the card and you will not be held responsible for any charges.

It is best, going into any new experience, to understand your rights and responsibilities. Request a written copy of these rights from your credit card company, and feel free to call them with any questions or concerns. Make sure that you arm yourself with information, and you will never be caught unawares.

Travel tours and insurance needs

There are a lot of people who will not travel until they get travel insurance. You may hear all the warnings that the travel agents try to show caution towards, but you will also find that you are going to be spending a lot of money and you will like to know that your investment is going to be protected.

You will first find that there maybe an unexpected problem. You will find that there are some things that could go wrong and you will want to make sure that you can get your money back. The travel insurance was created so that you can save yourself some hassle when it comes to cancellations for certain things. You may find that right before you travel you may end up becoming very ill or you may end up having to deal with something like a death in the family. There is so much that could go wrong and you would want to make sure that you get the insurance so when the unexpected happens, you are prepared for it.

For those who are traveling overseas or to other countries, you may want to look into an insurance plan that will cover you in that foreign country. You will want to see what it covers, because what you have now usually will not give you medical since many plans are not accepted in other countries. In these situations you need to have medical when you are put into an emergency. You will want to make sure that you are covered away from home. You need to make sure that you can be covered in any situation.

With the out break of terrorism, you may find that there are flights that can be booked, but it could be canceled anytime. You will fin that there are some countries that are prone to cancel and you will want to take inconsideration that there are unpredictable events in the world that could affect your trip.

Even though there are a number of reasons why you may have a closing of the airline, you will want to take inconsideration the weather conditions. You may also have to deal with something that will not be rescheduled and refunds will not be given. It is times like these that you will use the insurance to get your money back.

One of the most popular things is losing your luggage. You will find that missing a luggage is always the case if you do not carry on. This means that you will want to take the insurance out if you know the stats of the number of things that get lost in the luggage area. You will also find that there are going to be items that may be lost or stolen and the insurance will cover that as well. This is one of the reasons why you need the insurance to fly. You may pack some valuable things in your bag and when you land, have none of it. The insurance will help you to cut your costs.

Teaching - a survival guide for students and new teachers part 5 advanced body language

It is most important to keep your thumbs and hands visible when talking to a class. Practice holding your hands out with the thumbs pointing upwards until you can do it naturally. This is a very powerful dominance gesture, although it is one which does not come naturally to everyone.

If you find this is too difficult to do naturally, then try holding your hands at your sides, slightly curled, with the thumbs visible. This has less effect but is still powerful.

Hand movements should be calm and slow.

When you are having to wait too long for silence try closing your eyes, while using the hand and thumb technique above, and counting visibly. The more observant children will “Shhh” the class for you.

It is a good idea to have a “hot spot” where you always stand to tell the children off. After a very short time the children will become quiet as soon as you go there. The “hot spot” should be reserved for this purpose.

These techniques are taken as evidence of self-confidence by the children.

It is essential that you expect good behaviour at all times. Your expectations comes across in your subconscious body language. If you do not expect good behaviour then you will never meet it.

You can use body language and careful speech patterns to defuse many situations. It is always better to avoid confrontation wherever possible without losing face. It is important that you allow children to avoid losing face too. A child will often back down if they can do so without friends seeing it. This is why taking a child outside the room for a few words usually works much better than shouting at him or her in the class.

If you have the time, then wait until the class has gone, sit down and talk to the errant child, perhaps with a desk between you while s/he is standing. This removes the need that the child has to look “cool” by slouching, because you are looking more “cool” by sitting down. The child sees you as confident and in control. It means that you do not have to tell him or her off for bad posture and keeps the two of you a safe distance apart, reducing the likelihood of a flare-up. The worst that can happen is that the child storms off, and that can be dealt with on a later occasion, perhaps by a senior colleague

A few experienced teachers may be scathing about the use of body language in class control, even though they subconsciously use it themselves. You should be cautious in discussing body language with colleagues because there will be some malicious teachers who will tell the children about the “hot spot” or “raised thumbs” techniques. Once the children are aware of what you are doing the techniques become much less effective.

Stress inevitable but treatable

Lifestyle in the 21st century is very stressful. Stress nowadays is not only overwhelming but it can pose a serious effect on one's health. Almost everyone knows how it feels like to be stressed, stomachaches, headaches, and sweaty palms are all symptoms of this condition. These are normal body reactions to threats, changes in routines, or challenges. Chronic or prolonged stress caused by work, relationship problems, or financial concerns may hamper emotional balance and increase the risk of chronic illness. Ongoing stress may increase the chances that certain ailments may develop. In addition, chronic stress may weaken the immune system and make it more susceptible to many forms of infections. Stress however, is an inevitable part of life and may cause one to be physically and emotionally drained.

Here are additional signs that indicate that one is might be stressed out:

feeling down, edgy, or tired

laughing or crying without any reason

blaming others for bad things that happened

wanting to be alone at all times

not being able to see the positive side of certain situations

not enjoying activities that were used to enjoy

feeling annoyed to people or activities

feelings like one has too many things to do

Many stressed individuals try to self-medicate to distract one's self from by engaging in other activities while stressed. A lot of them however use the wrong method for stress relief. They tend to overeat, drink too much alcohol or coffee, or use illegal drugs. These habits may bring temporary relief but fail to alleviate stress in any meaningful way. In the long run individuals who engage in these activities may only heighten physical and emotional stress.

Exercise and nutritious diets are safe and effective ways to improve mental and physical health. Many medical studies point out that exercise, especially aerobic exercise (jogging, brisk walking, and jumping rope) as one of the best method for stress relief. This is possible because these activities promote of the production of endogenous morphines or endorphins. These are substances that is produced by the brain that might work as the body's natural pain-killers. It said that endorphins might be capable of elevating one's mood, self-esteem, and mental functioning.

Exercise should be done properly and in moderation to achieve health improvements. Individuals who want to improve their health don't have to train like marathoners or even join a gym. Strength training (push-ups, pull-ups, etc) coupled with 30 minutes of jogging or brisk walking can keep your body toned and improve metabolism. These regimens can be done with little or no equipment at all. Many health experts claim that the key to improved health is not intensity or using sophisticated equipments but continuous physical activity. Exercising properly can make people feel better, have more energy, and become less prone to stress. Before engaging in physical activities and making adjustments in food regimens, individuals are encouraged to seek the advise of health experts. They may prepare a workout routines that are recommended for individuals based on their specific health conditions and fitness goals.

If exercise and diet adjustments do not work, stressed individuals may use medications for stress relief. However, before taking them stressed individuals should consult doctors to clarify drug interactions and side effects that may occur while under medication. Understanding stress is essential for treatment and improvements in one's health.

Are you being charged these fees on your mortgage loan

Many mortgage brokers add in fees to your mortgage loan that aren't completely necessary to process your loan. Sometimes, either the fee itself is not necessary or it can be too inflated. If you are educated about your mortgage loans and the fees involved, you may be able to negotiate for lower fees.

Here are some sample mortgage fees that you might find to be over inflated:

Processing fee - Not only does the mortgage broker receive a fee from the lender, but the borrower is also charged a fee for “processing” the loan. This fee usually cannot be avoided, but beware of brokers who charge more than $1000.00, as this is considered very excessive.

Real estate agent’s administrative fee - Many real estate agencies have started charging a fee, around $200, to both buyer and seller. This is in addition to any real estate commission earned by the agents. Talk to your agent and see if you can have this fee removed.

Mortgage Origination Fee - The origination fee is basically what the broker charges for doing the loan, normally between 1-2% of the loan amount. This is a common fee for a broker’s services, but unless you have a very complicated loan, paying 2% is too high.

These fees are approximate and based on the information available at the time this article was written. Talk to your broker about negotiating lower fees if you feel you are being overcharged for anything. You might be surprised how willing to work with you a mortgage broker can be if you are educated about your mortgage loan. It is also a good idea to compare different brokers and lenders. Ask for quotes from several different brokers and lenders. This will give you more leverage to negotiate lower fees.

Linking for fun and profit

Well actually, linking isn't fun at all. In fact, it's quite tedious. Seeking, responding to requests and adding links takes time and effort. But, if you're not actively building links the RIGHT way you are going to be left behind. In other words, your site will be "Lost in Cyberspace". The plain fact is Google, and to a lesser extent, other important search engines, reward sites with links from relevant and important pages.

If you want your site to deliver lots of targeted search engine traffic (and who doesn't?) there are two equally important factors:

1) lots of keyword-rich, search engine friendly content

2) lots of relevant, incoming links from the RIGHT sources

For real success you need to cover BOTH of these strategies. Don't concentrate on one and not the other.

So, how do you go about building your links? It's not rocket science, but as I said, it does take time and effort. From my own experiences, here's what you should do:

1) Download and install the Google Toolbar:

toolbar. google. com/

This will show you the PageRank of the page you are viewing. PageRank is a measure, rated from 1 to 10, of the "importance" that Google gives to that page. There has been a lot written about PageRank. You don't need to become obsessed with it but it IS an important consideration when determining WHO to link to. A link from a PR-5 page is worth FAR more than a PR-0 page.

2) Establish a resource or links directory for your site. This lets potential link partners see that you are willing to exchange links. You should make it clear on your links pages what your linking policy is i. e. under what conditions you will agree to exchange links.

3) Your aim should be to build a resource directory that is relevent to your business. Don't try to build a mini Yahoo with umpteen different categories. Keep your directory focussed on your site theme. When you first start out you will be inclined to link to anybody in exchange for a link FROM anybody. This is a mistake. Be patient and choose your link partners carefully.

4) Before requesting a link from another site, add that site to your directory. Contact the webmaster and tell them you added their link because you believe their site would be of interest to your visitors (and so it should). Give the url where your link is located and ask for a return link, along with instructions on how you would like your link worded. NEVER demand by saying things like "if you do not link to us we will remove your link".

5) If you have not received a reply after 2 - 3 weeks send a polite follow up. Again, don't demand. No one is under any obligation to link to you. If you do not receive a reply to your second request it means that the webmaster does not want to link to you, or they are simply too busy to respond. In that case, leave it and move on. I receive dozens of link requests a day. Sometimes it takes me many weeks to get around to responding. You'll go mad worrying about links that have not been reciprocated. Your time is better spent.

6) When you receive a link request visit the site and check that it meets with your requirements as set down on your link pages. Is it a quality site with good content or just a "link farm"? If it doesn't meet your requirements don't link to it.

The webmaster SHOULD have already linked to your site but be prepared to overlook that breech of linking protocol if it's from a good quality, high PR site.

7) Beware of webmasters who add your site to their "directory" which turns out to nothing but a link farm i. e. has no useful content, just a bunch of links, and asks you to link to an entirely different site, one that HAS good content. These webmasters are playing you for a sucker. The benefit is all theirs.

8) As I said in point #1, links from high PR pages are worth more than links from low or no PR pages. Seek out high PR linking partners but keep in mind it is the PR of the actual page your link is on that matters, NOT the PR of the home page. In other words if the home page PR is 5, but the page your link is on is several layers deep in the directory, it will probably have a PR of 0 and be of little benefit to you. Check the PR of the actual page your link is on, or is going to be on, before agreeing to exchange links.

Each page on your links directory should be no more than two clicks away from your home page, and your linking partner's site should be the same. If your link is placed on a page which looks something like this - directory/category/subcategory/subcategory with your link - you will derive NO value from that link.

9) Be prepared to negotiate your links. Savvy webmasters understand the value of links from high PR pages. If you add a link to a PR-0 page on your site don't expect your link partner to put your link on a PR-6 page, and your link partner shouldn't expect the same from you. Exchange value for like value.

When you first start out your site may not have any PR due to a lack of incoming links. This reduces your bargaining power. However, you can overcome this by getting your site listed in as many large business directories as possible. Some of these you will have to pay, such as Yahoo and Microsoft's Business Directory, but many others are free.

10) Be specific about how you want your link partner to link to you. It is MOST important that the link to you contain your targeted keywords in the anchor (linked) text. When I ask for a link to my site I don't want the link title to be:

Steve Pronger Web Business Solutions

Instead, I ask for:

Small Business Website Designer

or whichever keywords I am targeting at the time. Note: Try not to have all your inbound links targeting the same keywords. This can raise an "over-opimization" flag.

11) And finally, here is an excellent resource to help you find quality link partners. It's called Value Exchange, and will put you in contact with like-minded webmasters:

stevepronger. com/value_exchange. htm

A walking safari in tanzania s ngorongoro

See Tanzania’s incredible flora and fauna on foot, walking in the African Bush with Masai warriors as you guides. Spectacular game viewing is combined with hikes around Lake Eyasi and the Ol Moti Crater, where you experience cultural encounters amongst the Masai, Datoga tribe and nomadic Bushmen.

The walking safari in Ngorongoro Conservation area is becoming very popular. Normally it is preceded with a short safari in 4 x 4 safari Land Rovers or Land Cruisers. Many people when they get to East Africa understandably want to see as much as possible and arrive with killer agendas ahead of them. I would advise restraint with the temptation to do too much in a short time. Safari fatigue can set in all too quickly with visitors reaching the halfway point in a safari and just longing for it all to end.

I would recommend some time spent at Lake Manyara, as you are able go out onto the lake in a two-man canoe and see the game from this unusual perspective. Also bicycles and village walking ‘cultural’ safaris are on offer. Take every chance you can to spend some time out of your safari vehicle. Stretch your legs and see Africa from as many perspectives as you can. There is much to experience and it cannot all be done from sitting on your bottom.

Remember, the most enjoyable experiences are not achieved quickly.

This walking safari has the added bonus of using Masai warriors as your guides. Donkeys, belonging to the Masia, are used as porters. The walking safari starts on the cool, forested rim of Ngorongoro crater and ends in the dry heat on the arid shores of Lake Natron, where temperature often exceed 40 c [105 f]. This soda lake is famed for the large number of flamingo that fly here to breed. Indeed the flamingo seems to be the only animal that flourishes in this harsh environment.

The highland walking safaris cover a rage of altitudes with the range rising steeply from the surrounding plains at about 1,500 meters to heights of between 2,500 and 3,500 meters. It is advisable to wear many layers of clothing as the temperatures will vary greatly. These safaris are quite energetic and a good level of fitness is required. The Crater Highlands range is roughly oval, measuring about 80 km by 40 km.

The Highlands are volcanic in origin, with the different peaks being created over millions of years by a series of eruptions connected with the formation of the Great Rift Valley. The older volcanoes have been eroded and most have collapsed to form craters.

Empakaai crater is 600 meters in diameter and 300 meters deep. With much of the base of the crater covered by a deep, 80 meter soda lake. Here there are birds, antelope, buffalo and blue monkeys, with the thickly forested walls plunging to the crater floor. If you wish to climb into the crater and explore, you will be required to be accompanied by an armed guide. The crater is heavily grazed by buffalo and the buffalo are notoriously anti-social and very aggressive. To catch the best Rift Valley views it is a must to be there at dawn or dusk, as the cloud cover can be heavy at other times. The familiar water birds to be spotted here include the black-winged stilt, cape teal and flamingo.

Ol Moti Crater can only be reached by foot and an armed ranger must accompany you. The scenery of Ol Moti is beautiful, with islands of forest and a waterfall at the source of the Munge River. Monkeys and buffalo are seen in the area.

The active volcano Ol Donyo Lengai standing at 2,878m is a popular way to end the walking safari. This volcano erupts every seven years or so. Here an early morning start essential. The climb is steep on powdery scree; therefore climbing the steep slopes on this very loose footing is neither easy nor enjoyable. The early morning start is to avoid the heat of the sun, for there is no shade on the mountain and together with the heat and lack of water makes this early start, in the pre dawn darkness, essential. This climb would only be recommended for the physically fit and for those with an interest in volcanoes, otherwise relax at the bottom and enjoy a well-earned rest and a cool drink.

Keep some quick meal ingredients handy for when time is short

All right I admit I don't always like to cook, especially when time is short and we have run behind because of what seems like endless errands and such. While it would be much easier to just run through a drive thru on occasions like this, I hate doing that especially when it comes to supper.

What I have done is to keep on hand the ingredients for 3 or 4 meals that I can "whip up" in a short amount of time, without having to run to the grocery store.

Depending on the tastes and size of your family you may have other ideas for quick meals but these are mine.

1. Chicken and Noodles.

I make my own noodles, they are super easy and they freeze well. I often triple the batch when I am making them, since I am going to have noodles drying out on my table anyway I might as well do a bunch at once and throw a few bags in the freezer.

When I boil a chicken it is just as easy to get a big pot out and do two or three and freeze some of it. You can even freeze the broth if you have room in your freezer.

So when time is short it is not hard to grab a bag of chicken, a bag of noodles, and either some frozen broth or a couple cans of broth and whip up homemade chicken and noodles.

I usually serve chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes, and in case I don't have any potatoes I keep a box of dried mashed potatoes on hand too.

Easy and tasty meal that can be done in about 20 minutes.

2. I always have a pound or two of cooked ground beef in my freezer. That way I can whip up a casserole, goulash, taco's, or throw some chili into the crock pot. I often season some for tacos and put it in the freezer too. It can be used for taco salads, tacos, or for a treat some meaty nacho's.

3. I confess I keep a handy box of hamburger helper in my pantry too. My daughter's favorite these days is the double cheese quesadilla.

4. That cooked frozen chicken in the freezer can be turned into a chicken salad or with a little seasoning some great chicken fajitas.

5. Especially in the summer I keep some frozen hamburger patties on standby to just throw on the grill for a quick meal that the kids love.

For side dishes fresh veggies and fruit is great. And I often open a can of peaches, pears, or fruit cocktail to go with my meals.

Remember if your are browning a pound of hamburger for a meal it is just as easy to do 2 or 3 pounds and put the extra in the freezer for future use.

So pick out 4 or 5 easy meals that you can do the preparation ahead of time for and keep them stocked up. Then on the days you didn't make a meal plan or run short on time just whip it together, it beats hitting the local drive-ups and is much less expensive and a whole lot healthier.

A review of the all new 2007 2008 hyundai sonata

The 2007 Hyundai Sonata is a stylish new vehicle. While the old version reminded many car patrons of a Jaguar in terms of style, the 2007 version looks even better, with a front lamp that resembles an Audi and a backside that looks like an Accord. The thin roof pillars and the driver's upright position also contribute to its esthetic value.

Aside from its impressive styling, the 2007 Sonata is a smooth ride. It's interiors are spacious and comfortable. The driving position it excellent. Passengers will appreciate the ample head and leg room at the back, even for large adults. The wide door openings and expansive footwells make it easy to enter or exit the car. The seats themselves are very comfortable although some have suggested putting in firmer padding for those long-distance drives. ourismanhyundai. com

The Sonata is also a quiet ride and can easily suppress wind rush. And while the engine note tends to increase with speed, the sound isn't really annoying though the tires sometimes thump over ridges.

In addition, the Sonata's balance control is superb. It reacts smoothly to small road imperfections and comfortably handles ridges, sharp bumps and fast curves.

The 2007 Sonata, which is the smaller of Hyundai's two midsize sedans, comes in three models. The Sonata Limited trim is the top-line model and has a 235-hp V6 and 5-speed automatic as well as heated front seats, automatic climate control and fine leather upholstery. Like the Limited, the Sonata SE also has a 235-hp V6 and 5-speed automatic. Meanwhile, the Sonata GLS has 162-hp 4-cylinders and a choice of either 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. All models are equipped with ABS and traction/antiskid control as well as front-side and curtain-side airbags.

Overall, the Sonata's advantage over other cars of its class such as the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima is that combines comfort, spaciousness, sophisticated design and reliable performance as well as a reasonable price.

In a nutshell, the 2007 Sonata is a bigger, sharper and more technologically advanced version than the 2006 model, which was re-designed and launched as an all-new model last year. This year's Sonata promises to be even more highly regarded than the 2006 version, which is no mean feat considering that last year's Sonata was a certified darling of the automotive press.

According to MotorWeek, the 2006 Sonata was the "Best Family Sedan," Popular Mechanics bestowed upon it its "Safety Excellence" award, Consumers Digest regarded it as a "Best Buy" and Kiplinger's Personal Finance called it "Best in Class." In addition, the 2006 J. D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study ranked the Sonata among the top three mid-size cars of 2006 while the National Highway Traffic Survey Administration gave it a rating of five stars, the highest possible mark, in its crash test rating for front and side impacts.

There is still room for improvement, though. For instance, big people complain that it's difficult to get into the driver's seat since the steering wheel does not tip up far enough. For extra comfort, an armrest between the two front seats would be nice.

The perils of plastic

Millions of credit card borrowers are about to face larger monthly payments, a change that represents both good news and bad for consumers.

Under new guidelines suggested by the federal government, starting in January minimum monthly payments for credit card debt will generally increase. Many mortgage lenders will no longer require payments equal to 2 percent of the debt, an amount that includes interest and fees. Instead most will now require a payment equal to 1 percent of the debt plus fees, interest and charges. Altogether, the new payment will be more than 2 percent of the borrower''s outstanding debt in many cases.

This is the good news. The higher monthly payments will reduce overall interest costs and force people to borrow less with credit cards.

The bad news? It will reduce the ability of many consumers to obtain a mortgage.

According to the most recent Federal Reserve report, we now have $799.1 billion dollars in outstanding credit card debt. That''s about $2,681.54 per person: For a household with four people, average credit card debt amounts to almost $10,750.

Such debt would not be a problem if it were offset by equally robust savings. Unfortunately, the Bureau of Economic Analysis says our saving percentage was -.2 percent in both October and November. Instead of putting money away, in those two months alone we spent $37.4 billion more than we earned.

Credit card financing is unsecured debt -- a form of financing that''s especially risky for mortgage lenders. More risk means higher interest, and in the case of credit cards interest rates between 18 and 28 percent are well known.

Let''s imagine a household with $10,000 in credit card debt. Imagine also that the interest rate is a modest 18 percent and that a monthly repayment equal to 2 of the outstanding balance is required. If you borrowed no more this loan would take 7.8 years to repay and interest over time would amount to $8,622. Increase the required monthly payment to 4 percent, the same debt could be repaid in 2.7 years and interest would amount to $2,628 -- a plump savings of almost $6,000.

The new repayment standards for credit cards will reduce credit card debt for millions -- but the higher minimum payments will also impact mortgage applications.

When mortgage lenders look at mortgage applications they consider many financial issues. Of particular interest is what borrowers spend each month, spending divided into two general categories: Housing expenses and consumer expenses.

Housing expenses are typically seen as mortgage interest and principal plus property taxes and insurance -- "PITI" in lender jargon. Consumer expenses include PITI plus such things as required monthly payments for credit card bills, auto payments, student loan pay, etc.

Expenses are described as a percentage of monthly income. If your household has a monthly income of $8,000 and monthly PITI is $2,240 then your "front" ratio is 28 percent. If overall required expenses are $2,880 then the "back" ratio is 36 percent. Overall, lenders would say the ratios are "28/36."

As it happens, to qualify for given mortgage loan programs you must meet certain front and back ratios. The ratios for loan programs vary, so if you do not qualify for one program you may qualify for others. For instance, there are different ratios for conventional loans (28/36), FHA financing (29/41) and VA loans (effectively 41/41). Adjustable rate mortgages often use 33/38 ratios while other loans have even more liberal standards, some with a back ratio above 50.

Now go back to the new payment standards for credit cards. If your required monthly payment goes from $200 to $280, that''s good for reducing credit card debt -- but your monthly required payment has increased. For instances, monthly expenses may go from $2,880 to $2,960. No a big deal in terms of cash or in the cost of a household with a monthly income of $8,000, but now the "back" ratio is 37 percent.

Whoops. That higher credit card payment means some borrowers will no longer qualify for certain mortgages. They monthly costs are above the guidelines.

What to do?

First, start with the realization that paying non-deductible, high-cost credit card charges is not a magical path to great wealth. To get the best possible mortgage, and to simply save more money, reduce credit card use.

* Look at your credit situation and get rid of credit cards you don''t use and don''t need. Keep one for emergencies.

* Speak with underwriters. Ask if it is possible to get an "exception" to the guidelines.

* Start saving. People save enormous sums of money with such basic steps as putting aside all singles found in their wallet at the end of the day or all coins in their pockets. Eat-in more often, bring lunch to work, keep safe cars longer and cut back on fashion and frills.

* If you have credit cards, always make full and timely payments and keep balances at zero.

* Instead of credit cards, use debit cards -- with a debit card you''re simply using money already in your checking account. Using cash on hand instead of credit means you''re likely to buy less.

* Get over-draft protection (a line of credit) for your checking account or link savings to checking accounts. Both can help prevent over-drafts and excess fees.

So the next time you pull out that credit card think about your real goal -- a new sweater or a new fireplace, a fancy dinner or a better kitchen, higher monthly payments or less. In no time it will be easy to keep the plastic out of sight and out of mind.

How to develop creative thinking

In my opinion, creativity is the real genius. Intelligent children learn fast, and apply their knowledge in everyday life situations. But - inventing something new, creating something original, that is real genius. I always admire originality, whether it is original artwork, an original story, or an invention that can make life easier for many people.

How can we teach our children creative thinking? How can we teach them the habit of thinking "outside the box"?

Here are a few easy and fun suggestions for activities that will go a long way toward developing this very valuable skill of creative thinking in your child. Slight adjustments may be needed for your child's age and skill.

1. Play the following game: one person starts telling a story. He stops after a few sentences, and the next player continues his story. There is no limit to the number of players. It is a great idea to record the story, so that it can be distributed to the participants later, for the enjoyment of everyone. This is a very fun activity that trains your child (and you too, if you are participating) to think creatively.

2. Prepare a series of pictures. The pictures can be taken from a book, from several books, from newspapers - or even downloaded from the Internet and printed on a home printer. Put the pictures next to each other, and let your child tell a story, using those pictures. You can take turns, your child and you, developing the story based on the pictures. This game can have several variations: put the pictures face down on the table, then turn them over one by one, to continue the story. Gradually increase the speed of turning the pictures over, so that the story teller has to come up with the story continuation faster and faster. When you are done with a set of pictures, just change the order, and see if your child can come up with a different story, based on the new order.

3. Prepare a series of words written on cards. Play the same game - tell a story using these words. You can use the same variations as above.

4. Play a piece of classical music, and let your child tell you what kind of mood does this music create, what kind of story does this music tell?

5. Play a piece of music, and have your child paint a picture that shows the mood this music creates, or tells the story this music is telling.

6. When your child comes up with a story in one of the previous activities, ask your child to change the story in order to change the mood. For example, if the story is sad - can he change the story to be happy? Can he change it to be a mystery? Can he change it to be a comedy, or a funny story?

7. When reading a book with your child, always ask open ended and thought provoking questions like: How would you handle this situation? What could the character do differently? How do you think did the character feel?

8. Print several pictures on paper. (You can use cardboard if you'd like to make the pieces more durable). Cut each picture into 9 parts (or more, if you want to make this game more complex). Now let your child put the pictures back together. After putting all pieces back together into the original pictures, you can mix the pieces, so that your child can create new pictures, combining pieces from different pictures. Start with two pictures mixed together, and advance to more and more pictures. Start with bigger pieces, cutting the picture into 4 parts only, and advance to smaller and smaller pieces, cutting the picture into more and more pieces. Also, use more and more complicated pictures, that include more details.

9. Play "pretend" games with your child often, or use "role playing" with your child. When you read a story, ask your child to play the role of his favorite character.

10. When your child has friends visiting, have them come up with a short play and perform it for the parents. This is always a fun activity for the children, and it also keeps them very busy.

11. Encourage your child to paint a picture of an object. Then have him paint it in different colors. For example, ask your child to paint or draw a bunch of fruit. Then have him change the colors of all the fruit. Have a red banana, yellow apple and so forth.

12. Choose a day a week, and have all family members do their routine activities in a different way. For example, brush their teeth in a different way than usual. Take a different way to school. Sing instead of talking. Get up earlier, and and play a new game. Walk backwards... Be creative, and encourage your child to be creative too.

13. Don't ever discourage your child from using his imagination. If your child tells an imaginary story, always praise him and acknowledge the creativity. If your child comes up with an original answer to a question, even if the answer is incorrect, acknowledge creative thinking.

14. Keep your eyes open for any signs of creativity and originality. Always praise and encourage these traits.

Have fun, and enjoy! To your child's creativity!

Tweak pc like a geek

When the mighty PC slows down, the world slows down. For those who know nothing about computers apart from sending emails, browsing and chatting online, a slow PC is a threat to one’s sanity. Even Da Vinci’s Code will pale in comparison to the mysteries inside the computer. So what can a guy do?

Tweak PC--Smells Geek?

When the PC begins to limp along, there is trouble. The almighty PC must NEVER SLOW DOWN. But in the midst of the hair pulling, you plod on while your PC glares its red eye. You’re probably wishing you knew all about computers or all the tweak PC stuff, but unfortunately, you don’t.

It is a bet you won’t even dare try to find out what’s wrong, lest you do more harm than good. You can’t even tweak PC, then how in the world could you solve a problem like a slow PC? You’ve heard about the PC’s defragment feature, but don’t even know and understand what it is all about. The best thing you can do at this point it call your tweak PC master, your friendly neighborhood geek.

Tweak Your PC Like a Geek

Here are the possible things the smartest guy in the block will do:

1.Ask if you’re on Windows 98, XP, 2000, or Vista.

2.Check the PC registry. He might want to see the Windows registry to check the settings and options of the operating system for Microsoft Windows.

3.Check the programs installed in your hard disk. Let’s call it the computer’s brain. He will call your attention on the available space on the hard disk. There is still enough space for an elephant to romp about, so why the slow performance?

4.Tell you there’s nothing wrong. He does not need dissect to the body parts of the PC. He will just give it his masterpiece tweak PC. He will just run the defragment feature. You nod, none the wiser, and say "Oh!"

5.He shuts down all the programs and click open the start menu. He goes to programs, accessories, systems tools, and finally, Disk Defragmenter. Defragmenting, he patiently points out, puts back all the bits and pieces of the fragments. After this tweak PC trick, your PC will run at top speed.

6.He guesses that you do a lot of installing and deleting. He explains that when you save large files onto your PC’s brain, the brain stores some of these files in little nooks and crannies where some files once occupied.

7.He takes the time to explain that his tweak PC trick will organize the cluttered brain of the computer.

8.Your friend further clarifies that this happens when you download a lot of games and this slows down the PC. Now you see the light at the end of the tunnel and say "Ahhh!"

The Best PC Tweak: Get Your Defrag On

Defragmenting is not a quickie. It takes an hour or more depending on the PC’s disposition, so while you are waiting for the process to finish, treat your friend to some ham on rye bread. He will be back in a flash for the next tweak PC session. But by then you’ll probably be doing your own thing.

You can check out sites on lines that will help you become a whiz without disemboweling your PC. You can get rid of pesky balloon tips, erase shortcut arrows, and give your mouse a makeover. You can also change your Login preferences. But never dare tweak PC when you have not broken the PC code.

Picking out fresh cut flowers for any social occasion

Even in allergy season, many kinfolk cannot resist the opportunity to dip their nose even when they know that they will redden their eyes or stimulate a sneezing fit. As you give the fresh flowers, however, there are a few thoughts that you may want to put behind them. These are small thoughts but thoughts that will make the effort that much more special.

Find the right florist

Giving fresh cut flowers in person is always the best way to go. Sending by internet is ok too but in person is better. If you are giving personally, however, spend a few extra minutes and stop by a few shops to scope out what they have got. Fresh cut flowers in America all come from the same place, South America. Around your region, they also come from the same place, the local flower consortium. This is where your local flower person will usually be several times per week at 4am. Different flower shops have different styles so their flower selecting may be a bit different. You are looking for the selection of flowers that matches the person or event you will be giving them to. Here’s the tip; go to the shop that has designers in the back and their flowers in a refrigerated case. What you want to do is pick out the individual flowers that you would like to give and have the designers put them together. If you have a design idea or two ask the designer to do it for you. This works great and you probably have a flower shop you’ll use regularly.

Buying bulk flowers

There is nothing that says you cannot go to the flower consortium at 4am yourself. If you need a bunch of flowers go for it. Look for what you like but remember that these guys do like to sell and they sell larger amounts so have an idea of what you really need plaus a bit extra. Remember to pick up some greens and spray like baby’s breath or some berries or whatever is there that you like.

Design it yourself

Fresh cut flowers can be on the expensive side. If you are having an event and need a few displays try and do them yourself. It isn’t as hard as you would think if you follow a few quick tips. The container is important. With a wide mouth container, make sure you have something to keep the flowers in place at the bottom. Marbles or a piece of Styrofoam will do. The container matters but can be something unique to the event. It doesn’t need to be fancy but it does need to be nice. Before you start lay out the flowers you’ve bought: greens, spray, flowers 1,2,3. As each piece goes in cut it to the desired height you want it to be, but remember that if somebody else takes it home they may cut a little off the end to to keep them fresh so leave a little for them. Put each piece in short to tall as you like and be sure to be simple enough so that you can do each exactly the same. Also remember that tall is not always better so make sure you have parameters under control. If they’re for a table display, people generally like to see the people on the other side of the table.

Buy with a friend

If you are going to buy a simple flower bouquet you can probably get away with whatever a decent florist comes up with, but if you are generally a klutz when it comes to colors and designs do yourself a favor and buy with a friend that has at least some idea of color and taste. The colors that fresh cut flowers provide are very vibrant and can easily clash. If you’re picking the ones you like and you pick wrong you can easily look the fool.

Facts about chakra awakening

Chakra awakening is highly a debatable topic, with two distinctly different schools of thought. The answer could be, “Yes” or “No”, depending upon which school of thought you are trained in.

Firstly, let's cover the side that would say, “Yes” to helping you share the experience of Chakra awakening. There is no shortage of detailed information, made available by enlightened Yoga enthusiasts like Anodea Judith.

Anodea Judith has made a Chakra balancing kit available, which gives a tour of the seven main Chakra system, detailed exercises, meditations, a workbook, and the path to Chakra awakening. She also has more books available, confers with other enlightened Yoga enthusiasts, and teaches workshops on this very subject.

There are many other books and CD's on this subject by a variety of knowledgeable authors and enlightened Yoga practitioners. All of this information is easy for the public to "get their hands on." So, here is a school of thought that believes this information should be shared and has gone out of its way to mass produce this information.

On the other hand, some Yoga teachers do not want the negative and positive qualities, within each Chakra, to be casually explored by students, without a competent Yoga teacher present. This is with the student's safety in mind.

Furthermore, the amount of previous Yoga experience a student has is a factor in being able to control emotions, such as fear, lust, anger, and depression that can come boiling to the surface as a result of a Chakra awakening.

When, or if, a student is ready for Chakra awakening, should be determined by the teacher; this is not for every student. Some students put pressure on themselves, which may lead to anxiety, causing negative qualities of the Chakras to surface, during an awakening.

In summary: One of the results of steady Yoga training is that we can get a better handle on our emotions than most. We also realize that we are not enlightened or perfect all the time. If you want to experience Chakra awakening with an enlightened Yoga enthusiast, you should seek out a competent Yoga teacher, who is willing to help you.

You could also get similar guidance from a Reiki teacher or Reiki master. Reiki teachers are very familiar with the Chakra system and very helpful. If it is not possible to work with a Reiki master, and you have been regularly practicing Yoga for at least two years, the Chakra balancing kit, I mentioned above, gives you step-by-step guidance toward awakening the Chakras.

Lastly, this is not a race, and please don't put pressure on yourself toward self-perfection.

Home owner association restrictions read before buying

Many communities have associations for homeowners, property owners, condo owners, or similar associations. The presence of a homeowners association, also known as “HOA”, introduces another layer of rules and regulations to consider when buying a home. Some people love these associations and some hate them.

Homeowners’ Associations

Some associations have very simple rules such as no abandoned, non-working motor vehicles and no grass above ten inches tall are allowed. Others have architectural review boards that must approve your paint scheme before you can repaint your house. I’m serious.

I was once looking at a townhouse with a potential buyer, and a neighbor knocked on the door to hand deliver a notice that the door had been painted without permission (it was a deep, wine red). The notice went on to state that the door would have to be returned to its original dark green color or an exception applied for within ten days. Although she liked the townhouse, the potential buyer decided she did not want to live with this sort of micromanagement.

Some associations add a significant amount of cost to the home purchase via high monthly, quarterly or annual dues payments. An aggressive association may also attempt to issue levies on homeowners for improvement projects. My husband and I once looked at a penthouse condo on the outer banks of North Carolina. I was reviewing the annual budget for the condo association, and noticed a twelve thousand dollar per unit levy made during the prior year. I asked about it and was told that it “depends upon the ‘beach push’ situation.” Further questioning elicited the information that when hurricanes or severe storms eroded the beach, fresh sand had to be brought in. Not only did it have to be brought in, it had to be pushed up into dunes and the dunes planted with sea oats and grasses! I am all for preserving the environment, but the twelve thousand dollar levy certainly made me nervous.

If you are considering a property controlled by an association, watch out for the following:

1. Sometimes associations limit what pets owners may have

2. If the association allows pets, it may limit the hours they can be outside.

3. Parking places may be assigned coupled with an aggressive towing policy.

Some associations maintain pools, tennis courts, elevators, trash collection, snow removal, grounds maintenance, provide bus or limo service, concierge service, and in general make life pleasant and trouble free. While these are nice benefits, make sure you are comfortable with the costs associated with them.

Look Before You Leap

So, as you can see, whether your concern is protecting the value of your investment (no junk cars), maintaining your freedom to choose (you want an eggplant door, a place to park the company truck, and/or to build an addition with a family room and a new kitchen), it’s very wise to check out those things which can limit your control and increase the cost of home ownership before you buy.

Does your pet dog suffer from heartworms

Dog heartworm is a common disease among canines in the United States. Discovered in 1856, the worms mainly live in your dog's heart and major blood vessels.

The worms, especially on worst cases, seriously impair the heart's operations. Worse, they could also clog your dog's blood vessels. These infections result to body weight losses, chronic cough, dropsy, breath shortness, chronic heart failure, vision disturbances, and ultimately, death.

Since the symptoms of heartworm disease vary among dogs, it would be best that a veterinarian check your dog to evaluate a final analysis. Most dogs show visible symptoms only when the disease has reached the point where it would be almost improbable to be cured by treatment. To help you see early symptoms and to hopefully save your dog, look out for these signs:

- Dogs that have been quite active usually tend to be tired easily.

- Dogs that would have been otherwise healthy usually gasp for breath.

- Coughing of your dog has suddenly become a common occurrence.

- Dogs bred for hunting could no longer keep up with rapid chases and usually fall from exhaustion.

- In some rare instances, the dog experiences convulsions, jaundice, and problems in the vision.

- Before it dies, the dog experiences emaciation. often precedes death.

Who gets infected by the heartworm infection?

Previously, it was thought that only dogs that were long-haired were more resistant to heartworms because of the high difficulty of mosquitoes (which bring the worms) to penetrate through the dogs' hair. Since then, it has been proven that this was not true. Mosquitoes even have a hard time penetrating through short-haired dogs. Actually, mosquitoes feed on the abdominal region of the dog. That is why both long-haired and short-haired dogs are susceptible to an infection, since both types have little hair on this region. Some mosquitoes also feed on the muzzle area or the ears where the dog's hair is quite matted down.

Can heartworm infection be treated?

Heartworm infection can be treated through chemical therapy if diagnosed early. Most of the chemical treatments kill the worms over some period of time. Killing all the worms in one swoop is no better: If all the heartworms were killed in just one treatment, the dead bodies would deposit in the lungs and kill the dog.

Remember also that the chemicals used in treating the worms are also as dangerous to your dog as the worms. That is why treating the disease using chemical therapy should be used with utmost care and should be handled by a veterinarian.

There also cases when surgery is needed. In most cases, this could be a feasible option. Consult with the veterinarian if surgical correction or any other method that can cure the infection.

There are also drugs that cold prevent your dog from getting heartworms. These drugs attack the parasite in its early stages and stop the worms from being full-blown adults later. This doesn't mean that your dog would be free from infection. This only means that dogs can still get infected during the season of mosquitoes and yet remain unscathed of heartworms.

Preventative medication using drugs, on the other hand, can cause serious complications if your dog has already heartworm infections in a higher level. That is why the use of drugs should be under the supervision of veterinarians. Taking drugs are also combined with regular blood texts. This has shown to be quite effective in saving many dogs with heartworm infection.

In order for your dog to avoid heartworm infection, protect your pet from mosquito bites especially if there is a high mosquito population in your area or if it is mosquito season. You might want to screen the sleeping quarters of your dogs to avoid repeated bites. Repellent sprays can also be used, but these only have limited effects.

You might also want to consult your vet fro preventive medication. In addition, you might want regular blood tests on your dog to assess early symptoms of infection. This is quite tricky, especially that the symptoms of heartworm infection could not be seen immediately.

In short, your pet dog which looked healthy may be having early symptoms of heartworm infection. It would be best that you checked. There's nothing wrong in doing that, especially if that is for your pet dog.

Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies

If you are like me, you remember how much you loved visiting grandma's house as a kid. You loved it because you got spoiled there. She let you play any game you wanted, you got to be silly and goofy, and you could even have candy before dinner. Grandma let you do all of the things that your mom said no to. But there is another reason kids love going to grandma's house to visit: her chocolate chip cookies.

Chocolate cookies are loved by most people I know. And most of us discovered our love for them as small children in the comfort of grandma's kitchen. For some reason her cookies were always much better than mom's. Maybe it is because they were always hot and soft or because she probably let you eat as many as you wanted. Whatever the reason, one thing is sure. You loved, and maybe still do love, chocolate chip cookies.

Chocolate chip cookies are the perfect snack. You can eat them when they are warm and right out of the oven or you can save them for a few days and still enjoy them just as much. Some people even love to eat the dough of the chocolate chip cookies before they are baked. Not many other snacks can be eaten in so many fun ways. Perfect with a glass of milk, chocolate cookies can be enjoyed after school, just before bed, and during any season of the year. They are just as good when it is freezing cold outside as they are in the middle of summer.

Chocolate chip cookies are the most famous kind of cookies. Everyone has eaten one and most everyone loves them. You can find them in every grocery store and bakery you enter, and most every cook I know has a special recipe to make the perfect batch. Chocolate chip cookies are great because they are made with a few simple ingredients, most of which you have in the house all the time.

Making chocolate chip cookies is a perfect way to get children started working in a kitchen and learning to cook. All kids love to help mom with mixing and pouring the ingredients together, and there is nothing better to let kids experiment with than chocolate chip cookies. Kids can get involved and have a special job to do and they can see and taste the results of their hard work. Baking chocolate chip cookies is a great family building activity that can fill any Saturday afternoon with fun.

So the next time you remember how great grandma's chocolate chip cookies really were, get out your own secret recipe and get your whole family to make the special memory of making and baking the perfect chocolate chip cookie.

Maintaining motivation whilst distance learning

For most students, whether studying in the classroom or by distance learning, their course of study is usually spread over many months, and in some cases, two or three years, and maintaining consistently high levels of motivation over such long periods is almost impossible. The reasons for this are many, and each of these reasons affects different individuals in different ways.

Firstly, in general terms, once you have started your course of studies, this event itself changes the balance in your life. Study time has to be planned and fitted into a pattern of life where it didn’t exist before. Family, friends, and work colleagues are all affected, to a lesser or greater degree, by your decision to study. The demands of studying, the planning, the organising of facilities, the concentration needed, the pressure of coursework and-or examination deadlines all add stresses to your life that have to be managed effectively. Once the initial excitement of starting the course and setting out on the road to achieving a new objective has passed, then the pressures and the workload start to have more impact on your life.

Secondly, over these relatively long periods of study, you change. By this I mean that after one year, for example, you have gained more experience in your work role, you will have completed a large part of the course of studies. You may have been promoted, or been disappointed that you weren’t. Your work colleagues may have changed, or your manager may have been replaced with another. You may have changed jobs, moved to a new work location, or moved to a new home. You may have found new friends, or a new partner, be having relationship difficulties, or have become a father, or mother. You may feel unsure, albeit temporarily, that the course of studies is going to be as useful as you first thought, or the qualification as relevant to your career as you initially believed.

Thirdly, the people in your life will have changed, perhaps in small ways, perhaps in significant, major ways.

Your partner and family members will also have changed, at least in some ways. If you have children they will have grown older, and perhaps become more demanding of your time. Your friends may have developed new interests, or moved away, or changed jobs, and are not as close as before. Any one or more of your family, friends, work colleagues, may have themselves changed jobs or started a course of studies, and taken on the pressures that accompany these.

Fourthly, a long course of studies will almost inevitably include areas of study that you are not excited about, or find boring, or which you can’t see the relevance of. Personally, I have always struggled with subjects like Statistics and Data Analysis, and motivating myself to study these was very difficult! Some of my colleagues love these subjects but dislike what they view as vague subjects such as those around managing people.

Finally, studying for a professional development qualification is hard work. Very hard work. Working full time and also studying at professional level is the equivalent of having two jobs at the same time. This means that you will inevitably become tired and listless and probably irritable, at least on some occasions, as you work through a long course of studies. The result is that your motivation level will fall as it becomes more difficult to study effectively in this condition.

The first, most important, most critical, step is to recognise and accept that maintaining a consistent level of motivation is impossible. The second, equally important step is to accept that although motivation levels will fluctuate, the extremes of high and low can be controlled. The third, equally critical step is to plan and take positive action to counter the influences that will be attacking your motivation levels.

This action should be planned as early as possible, ideally at the very start of your studies, but it is never too late to implement such action. The specific actions are, individually, simple ones, and relatively easy to implement. The difficulty is in maintaining these actions, integrating them into your approach to your studies, to your work, and to your personal and home life, so that they become part of your lifestyle, rather than occasional, irregular activities.

Before you start your studies, talk with your family or partner about the course of studies and why it is important to you, and to them. In some cases it will be appropriate to take their views into consideration before you decide to go ahead. Be as certain as you can be, through research, asking advice, consulting specialists, that the course, the qualification, is appropriate for your personal development, and that it fits in with your plans.

Select a course provider, college, business school, university, that offers a format, a style, an approach, that you will enjoy being part of. Check with current and previous students. Ask colleagues and friends who have also studied by distance learning about their experiences.

Set up a Personal Study Area, which you can organise and use for your studies. This should be a place where you will be comfortable, properly equipped, relatively undisturbed and where you can switch into “study” mode. Help yourself to avoid distractions occurring. Make it clear to family and friends, in the discussions you have with them, that once a timetable of study has been set and they have agreed that it is reasonable, they must not try to distract you. Turn off your mobile phone. Don’t have a television set visible from your personal study area. Take defensive action to prevent distractions occurring, such as contacting work colleagues before they contact you.

Plan your studies so that you study at times that suit you, but also are times that don’t clash with times when it is important that you are with your family, partner, or friends. Keep your family, your friends, your partner, your work colleagues, your manager, appropriately up to date with your progress. Build in time for leisure and pleasure. Make sure that you take it! You will return to your studies fresh and re - invigorated. Plan your studies to take into account, and leave room for, working on tests, assignments, and revising for exams if required. Don’t set yourself unreasonable targets. If you can't study for more than an hour at a time, don’t plan to. Plan to work in 30 minute sessions. If you can't study effectively in the early morning, don’t plan to. Plan to study later in the day, or in the evening. If you can't actually manage to study for more than 8 hours a week, don’t plan to.

Build some of your study activities into your everyday life. For example, if you are studying for a professional management qualification, read a business newspaper or journal instead of your usual newspaper, look out for business focused programmes on the television and radio, read business and management books to gain background knowledge and understanding, talk with your manager and specialists at work to see if you can be included, perhaps as an observer, in management meetings.

Talk regularly with your Tutor. Good distance learning providers will have tutors who are accessible on a regular basis, and who will talk with you in the evening and weekends as well, at least for emergencies. Use email, instant messaging, and the telephone, appropriately but regularly.

Equip yourself with the best study aids that you can afford. Your PC or Laptop doesn’t have to be the latest model, or the most powerful, and it’s not necessary to have the latest versions of software, but if it regularly crashes, or you lose valuable work, that can be very demotivating. Make sure that you have good quality anti-virus software (this should be kept up current through regular updates). Losing completed coursework and other files and folders because of a virus can make the most sane person suicidal! Don’t risk it, our own experiences and those of many of our students tell us that viruses are a real, ever-present danger.

Keep fit and healthy. This is crucial. You need to take regular exercise, eat a balanced diet, try to avoid too much alcohol. It is well established knowledge that poor diet and lack of exercise has a very detrimental effect on concentration levels and on achievement levels.

Reward yourself. When you meet a key target, submit an assignment on time, pass an examination, give yourself some time off, or a special treat. Be pleased with yourself.

Finally, work at your studies to the best of your ability. Study hard. Study effectively. This will almost certainly guarantee that you will meet your deadlines and that the standard of your work will be high. The result will be that your progress will be successful and you will complete the course and achieve the qualification. Nothing is more powerful in raising morale and motivation levels than success.

Do you work from home buy your next home wiht your office in mind

The flexibility afforded by a “zero-commute” combined with the skyrocketing price of gasoline has strengthened the case for full time teleworking and telecommuting. According to an Environmental Protection Agency (2004) study:

“Americans spend an average of 46 hours per year stuck in traffic. Gridlock produces more than $63 billion in congestion costs per year”

The artist community has been well acquainted with the use of work/living spaces for years, but improvements in technology have made the benefits of teleworking and occasional telecommuting more attractive to general consumers. According to the key findings form the International Telework Association & Council (ITAC) Telework America (2000) study:

“Home-based teleworkers also have larger homes, on average, than non-teleworkers; the difference amounting to about 500 square feet. The most popular place for an office in these larger homes is a spare bedroom, with the living room a distant second. The primary home telework activity is computer work (55% of total activities), followed by telephoning, reading, and—averaging 7% of the time—face to face meetings.”

As you purchase your next home, there are certain factors to consider if you need to set up a new home office:

Make sure that your high-tech needs can be met. Have a qualified electrician inspect the wiring of the house to see if the system can handle the extra power load that your home office requires. Older homes may need significant upgrades to handle the extra power, while newer homes are built with more energy-efficient systems to handle the additional power along with heating/air conditioning requirements. If you use cable, DSL or satellite internet access, check with your local service provider to see if access is available in your new neighborhood. Shop around for your telephone provider—in some cases, business service bundles may be more cost effective than regular residential service.

Designate where your office space will be. Determine the amount of space you will need to accommodate your work style and space. In many cases a spare bedroom or living room space can be used, if a formal den option is not available. If your work requires heavy telephone usage or just heads-down concentration, you may want to consider utilizing a room with a door. Doors can be closed to reduce interruptions from other family and household noises.

Plan your office blueprint to include all required furniture, bookcases, computers, fax, and printers. Make sure to allow for filing and storage space for files and extra office supplies. Lighting is critical for computer or assembly work, so make sure to allow for direct sunlight along with any specific task lighting that may be necessary. Select flooring options that will allow you to work comfortably—you may wish to go with hardwood or laminate flooring to allow for your chair to move smoothly across the floor. Install enough phone lines to cover your home, business and fax machines needs.

Is the office easily accessible? If you will expect regular package deliveries, make sure that your designated office is easily accessible to the front door of the home. This is also necessary if you will need to meet clients or visitors in your office and would like to ensure a professional appearance for your business.

Find out about local business requirements. Some cities have zoning restrictions and guidelines for work/living spaces along with tax implications. Make sure to check with your local government to determine if special restrictions exist.

Compare fixed rate mortgages and find out about 50 year mortgages

If you plan on staying in your home for 10 or more years and want your mortgage payments to stay at one stable rate, you should consider a fixed rate mortgage. Available for 10, 15, and 30 years, fixed rate mortgages give you the comfort of knowing your monthly payments will never increase. This is especially advantageous when interest rates are low – you’ll lock in the current rate for the duration of your loan, whether it’s 10, 15, or 30 years, so you’re safeguarded from rising interest rates in the future.

When choosing between the different types of fixed rate mortgages, there are a few things to consider. A longer term mortgage (such as the 30 year fixed rate mortgage) has lower monthly payments than 10 and 15 year mortgages. On the flip side, it also has higher interest rates. And, since you’re locked into your interest rates for the entirety of the loan, there may be times when interest rates go down but you’re stuck paying higher interest rates.

Of course, with a 10 or 15 year mortgage, you may also risk paying higher rates than the current interest rates – but since they are shorter term, there’s less opportunity for this to happen. And shorter term fixed rate mortgages benefit from lower interest rates than 30 year fixed mortgages. In addition, you will build up equity on your home in a shorter amount of time, because you are paying more off the principal with each monthly payment. However, in order to do this, your monthly payment is higher than the payments on longer term mortgages.

Find out about 50 year mortgages

With housing prices in some parts of the country hitting record highs, many people’s dream of owning a home seems too far out of reach. Add to that the threat of rising interest rates, and that dream can become a nightmare for some. That’s why several of the country’s mortgage lenders have introduced longer term loans like 40 year and 50 year mortgages to meet the needs of more prospective home buyers.

These newer mortgage options open up the housing market to a larger group of buyers by spreading the loan into lower monthly payments over a longer period of time. It’s easy to see why the monthly installments are lower: Imagine dividing payments on a $400,000 home into 360 monthly payments for a 30 year mortgage or 600 payments for a 50 year mortgage. The 50 year mortgage installments would be significantly lower.

Although total interest paid on the lifetime of a longer-term loan will be greater than the interest paid on a 15 or 30 year mortgage, you’ll still benefit from building up home equity because you are making payments on both the principal amount of the loan and interest. This makes 40 year and 50 year mortgages attractive alternatives to old standbys like interest-only and payment-option adjustable-rate mortgages, which can be more costly in the long term because little to no principal is paid off.

How to plan the perfect spring break family vacation

:
From time to time everyone needs some time away from their life. It does not matter if you are 10 years old and in 5th grade or 35 years old and working a full time job, to maintain good mental health you have to take the occasional vacation.

Some time around the beginning of April most public and private schools have Spring Break from School which is a great time to plan a vacation.

Most vacations when you have children become about them, and you wind up at places like Disney land or some other child orientated vacation spot, but what about you?

Las Vegas used to be known as an adult getaway where what happens there stays there. This is no longer the case. Over the past 15 years, Las Vegas realized that more money can be made from a family orientated city rater then just from gambling.

Many casinos started adding attractions for children like go carts and other amusements, and many other activities aimed at giving a child a good time, but the casinos also opened up day care centers, so parents can get some time to enjoy themselves as well.

I know when I would go to Disney World with my kids after the 2nd or 3rd day I was looking forward to getting back to work.

For the last several years we have been going to Las Vegas for our family Vacations over spring break and the kids enjoy it. They get to go on roller coasters, swim, play video games, watch movie the list really goes on and on for all the things they can do, and I get to spend a few hours ever day with my wife in the spa getting a message, eating in nice restaurants and playing some Blackjack in the casinos.

Since we started doing this I have seen my family grow closer. My wife noticed that I am in a better mood for the rest of the year after we get back from vacation. I am enjoying my job more and all in all life is just better.

Putting together a Los Vegas vacation is very simple to do. You can go to a travel agent, or do it yourself online. I have always preferred to go to a travel agent and just let them do it, but if you are trying to save money you can get some good deals online that a travel agent can't or won't offer you.

If you choose to do it yourself, it is easy to do. You can go to your computer and do a search for Las Vegas. You will see every casinos and hotel listed and you can go thru them one at a time and see what they offer for you and your family to do.

You will also see everything the city and surrounding areas have to offer, and there really are tons of fun things for everyone in Las Vegas.

I hope to see you and your family there.

Setting smart financial goals

Managing your money wisely is the best way to make sure you and your family gain financial security. Money management is also extremely important if you own a business. All business owners need to understand how money comes in and goes out of their business-if you ignore budgeting details, your venture might not be successful. There are many similarities between budgeting for yourself and budgeting for your small business. When you understand the basics of money management for yourself, you will be more prepared to set up a budget for your company.

To manage your money wisely, start by setting financial goals and establishing a budget plan to help you achieve those goals. Financial goals are simply statements about things you wish you could afford; for example, you may have a goal to establish an emergency savings fund of $2,000 by the end of the year.

What are your personal financial goals? If you had $2,000, what would you do with it? Would you invest it in your small business? Would you buy a car? Would you make a home improvement?

You will be able to accomplish your goals if you manage your finances and put money aside on a regular basis. The key is to setting financial goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Trackable (SMART):

Specific. State exactly what you want to achieve, how you're going to do it, and when you want to achieve it. For example:

General Goal Statement: I want to improve my finances.

Specific Goal Statement: I want to pay off my credit card bill in 8 months by negotiating a payment plan with my creditor.

Measurable. A financial goal should be measurable so you know when you have achieved it.

General Financial Goal Statement: I will pay off most of my credit card debt soon.

Measurable Goal Statement: In the next six months, I will pay three of my five credit card bills in full.

Attainable. Make sure the financial goal is within reasonable reach.

General Goal Statement: I will save money.

Attainable Goal Statement: I will save $1,000 in a year by putting aside $3 each day.

Realistic. Is the economic goal realistic for you? Don't ignore your limitations. Your economic goals need to be tasks that you can reasonably accomplish.

General Goal Statement: By managing my money well, next year I will become a millionaire.

Realistic Goal Statement: By managing my money well, next year I will be debt free and will have an emergency fund equal to three months of living expenses.

Trackable. Being able to track your progress encourages you to keep going and reach your fiscal goal.

General Fiscal Goal Statement: I will increase my savings goal every year.

Trackable Statement: Each year I will save 10 percent more money than the previous year.

If you are SMART about setting financial goals, you will be well on your way to managing your money in a way that will provide financial security for you and your family for years to come.

Are you suffering from ignorance

Why do you settle for less? Why do you accept living an average life?

What a good start!

Here is a fact of life that you must know:

"Most people are living a mediocre life because they are ignorant of who they are."

You've a huge power inside, but your greatest problem has been ignorance of who you are and who you were meant to be. You're limiting your unlimited potential.

There is too much space out there. Don't stay in your cage, living a life of despair and dissatisfaction.

You are so unique and you're here for a purpose. The world needs you. You're crafted for everlasting success. You're magnificent.

You have to know that the foundation of everlasting success is realizing, believing and unleashing your true potential and expressing your uniqueness.

Bring your uniqueness to the world and you will be of tremendous value. Also, don't worry, money will follow!!

Set aside some time today and think of your strengths. Forget about your weaknesses now, because it is the easiest and first thing most people see in themselves.

Be different, look for your strengths and don't tell me that you don't have any strengths. I will not believe you. You were born great and fabulous. If you don't believe me, look at the face of a smiling baby and feel the sheer amount of happiness and hope expressed on his face.

Therefore, look for your strengths and start building upon those. Expand your strengths and work on them. Do things that utilize most of your strengths, and avoid doing things that highlight your weaknesses. Your strengths will take care of your weaknesses as time goes by.

My friend, it is time to learn how powerful you are. It is time to get rid of your ignorance about yourself and your capabilities. Unleash your giant and live a great life that you deserve.

Don't accept mediocrity, conversely, strive for everlasting success.

YOU can make a difference. I believe in you.

Wheel and tire maintenance for your suv

Your SUV’s wheels and tires are one the most essential parts of your vehicle. Because SUVs, such as the Land Rover Range Rover, are 4WD, it can go through any terrain that the planet could offer. And when it does, the tires and wheels of your SUV do not just obviously help you to reach your destination because it is the major equipment that makes your vehicle move. However, the functions of the wheels and tires do not just end there. These parts also emphasize the overall appearance of your vehicle. Moreover, the wheels can actually improve your cars performance just by effective cleaning. Like any other car parts like Land Rover Range Rover parts, SUV wheels can eventually be corrosive and tires could wear out because of certain factors.

Getting your SUV perfectly cleaned on a local car wash is a great idea. However, the only drawback of it is the cost that you would be spending in a car wash. Why go to a car wash if you could clean your wheels by yourself, right? So here are some few guides in effective cleaning and maintenance of your vehicle’s wheels and tires.

Before we proceed to the cleaning session, first you should know the factors that made your wheels and tires unpleasant. Whenever you use your SUV for a long travel or even in a short trip, dust particles attack the surface of your wheels. Other unwanted dirt on your wheels and tires include road tars, mud, and different soil crumbs. Acid rain and winter salt are effective destroyers that can make your wheels brittle.

Cleaning your wheels and tires is actually the first step in car washing. You should first select a certain cleaner for your wheels and tires. There are a lot of cleaning agents out in the market today but you should choose the safest and most effective cleaning agent for your wheels and tires. Some cleaning agent contains a high level of acidity and can easily damage your wheels. Acid-free cleaners are effective cleaning agents that are commonly used by car wash shops. The most common cleaner is the household detergent because you can find it anywhere in your kitchen, or toilette, of course. Not only that, detergent is also effective and is the safest cleaner because it does not contain any harmful ingredients that can affect your car. Wheels and tires of SUVs are much larger and broader than other vehicles so the cleaning process most likely will take longer compared to sedans.

Now let us start with the cleaning process. First, you should check your tires for road dirt and mud. If you found one, then scrape it with any hard object you can find in your place, but be careful not to scratch your tires so hard. Dilute your chosen cleaner in a bucket of water and then start brushing your tires. The grooves of your tires are the most susceptible to mud and road tars. Brush it effectively. After cleaning your tires, proceed to the wheels. Rinse the brush that you had used in your tires and start brushing your wheels in up and down motion. Pretty easy, right? You should actually clean your wheels and tires once a month for maintenance.
