Can sleeping pills cause weight inch gain the answer is shocking

You are a health-conscious guy. It is easy to tell that by your ripped physique and obvious concern for exercise and cardiovascular health.

What others can’t see is your need to take sleeping pills to help you sleep. You are so wired up constantly from work, sports, exercise and just life in general that it’s hard for you to sleep at night. Without sleeping pills, you would be awake all night long.

Recently though, you have noticed that you have gained a few pounds. You haven’t changed your exercise regimen, nor have you really changed your diet. What gives? Could it be the sleeping pills?

In short, yes. People who have taken the sleeping pill known as Ambien for a fixed period of time noticed considerable weight gain. However, health professionals argue that Ambien does not cause a change in physical or mental characteristics that would make patients gain weight.

So why can sleeping pills cause weight/inch gain?

Ambien and other sleeping pills can cause weight/inch gain because the medication forces the body to relax, but can’t shut off brain activity. If a brain is still active, it can make the body do things without a conscious realization, like sleepwalking. Patients have been proven to do things like drive, clean and eat while sleepwalking. The patients can overeat considerably each night after taking a sleeping pill and never know it. As you know, overeating can cause considerable weight gain over time.

Or, doctors also answer the question of why can sleeping pills cause weight/inch gain another way. Sleeping pills cause patients to sleep longer than they would have without taking the medication. You’ll still be drowsy when waking up after taking sleeping pills and the sluggishness results in eating to gain energy.

We now know why can sleeping pills cause weight/inch gain, but how can you still take the medication and still keep your figure?

Well, you really shouldn’t be on sleeping pills for more than a few weeks. Considerable weight gain is not that feasible in that amount of time. However, if you think you will be on Ambien or another type of sleeping pill for an extended period of time, ask your doctor to give you to lowest dose possible.

If you must take a high dose, make sure you put steps in place to combat any problems with sleepwalking and overeating before it occurs. Ask your spouse or roommates to help prevent you from doing things while you are sleeping or put reminders in place to make it obvious that you’ve done something the night before without realizing it.

And if you do all of this and still believe you are gaining weight quickly, see your doctor. It could be a sign of a more serious problem that your doctor must diagnose before a serious problem develops.

What to look for when seeking good sports nutrition

In order to get maximum return from regular exercises, sportsmen nowadays are cautious about what they eat. Many choose to take sports supplements or sports nutrition so as to put the good things into their bodies. However, this can be a tough job without a good knowledge on nutrition.

Some people simply rely on the nutritional facts and benefits given by the manufacturer. Sure, most of the things you buy at the health store have labels, but first of all, you have to learn how to read them. How about those stuff like gummy bears and burgers? They don’t come with labels. The truth is as the pace of our society increase, eating has become a chore to some, rather than a chance to build and heal our bodies. Often, people go for what is convenient instead of what is good to the body. As such, finding the right nutritional fact about what we eat is important to our health.

The first thing you need to learn is to know how to read the labels on the food or supplement you buy from the store. You can ask yourself question like what is important, what do those number mean, how to tell if a company is being sneaky on their label. Learning how to read the content and nutritional value of the food or supplement is important because by knowing what the ingredients are, you will know if the food is for you. This is especially important for those ingredients that show up in the top few lists because most labels lists ingredients in terms of their percentage content in the product. If a food contains 50% sugar, you should decide whether you need that food to fuel your body.

For food that do not have nutritional facts or do not have any label at all, sometimes you can request for one. Most fast food restaurants can give you a copy of the nutritional facts about the food they sell. If not, you can do some research online to find out the nutritional facts of some of the food you commonly eat.

Surprisingly, there are a lot of myths about sport nutrition. A lot of wrong information on nutrition is floating around all over the place, especially the internet. Ensuring you receive the correct nutrition is important. It will encourage your success in any sport or non sport activity that you participate in.

Baseball memorabilia must-haves

If you are not familiar with the term memorabilia, then you must know that memorabilia refers to individual items of historical value such as programs, posters, brochures, clippings, buttons, pennants, cards and stickers. So, baseball memorabilia must-haves refer to baseball souvenirs.

And, when it comes to baseball souvenirs, the most common things that people collect are baseball balls and baseball bats, most of the times with original autographs of some players on them. Autographed collectible items have grown into a huge industry.

There are hundreds and hundreds of places where you can buy baseball memorabilia. The easiest way to find baseball memorabilia is by surfing the internet. Just type “baseball memorabilia” on a search engine and you will instantly find hundreds of websites that deal with these items. You can easily find balls, jerseys, cards, photos, helmets, bats, gloves or any other sports related pieces of equipment. All you need is the money to buy them.

Next, there are specialized sports memorabilia stores, where you can find really interesting stuff. There are numerous people that prefer to sell such items for some extra money. Unfortunately, the market is also full of fakes. And still, there are some things that you can do to avoid buying fake baseball memorabilia. The first thing you must do is to make sure you purchase baseball memorabilia from reliable dealers. Try to look for people who carry the big name dealers on the sports market. For example Steiner Sports, Upper Deck, and a few others can really be considered trustworthy. Really valuable autographed sports memorabilia is hard to find so if you see a no-name vendor with every athlete in the book, be wary (especially if he is printing Certificates of Authenticity on his home computer). Another method of ensuring authenticity is by only buying collectible items with a PSA/DNA authentication. PSA/DNA is a leader in the sports authentication marketplace and they issue certificates of authenticity for a fee.

An important aspect to remember is that sports memorabilia, and especially signed sports memorabilia, always come with proper documentation and holograms. So, a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) issued by a well-known, credible and reliable company in the sports memorabilia industry is a must. Just use the internet, and you can easily locate a seller you are considering doing business with and you might get some information that could save you a lot of time and money. Specialized forums are also reliable sources of information. You can discuss with other seasoned collectors about baseball souvenirs and get advice for places and people to buy from. You might even want to consider dealing with a small handful of people whom you trust doing business with to limit any chance of getting cheated.

In general, when you are looking to purchase baseball memorabilia that will increase in value, buy only valuable items. There are several factors that count here: the popularity of the baseball player, the quantity of a certain item available on the market, whether the player is/was inducted into the Hall of Fame, whether they are still alive, etc. Lastly, ensure that the condition of the memorabilia you are collecting is in good condition. Many times, humidity and UV light can damage items displayed in a home or in a store.

Hines ward 1998 draft day pick

Hines Ward was born on March 8, 1976 in Seoul, South Korea. But although Ward was born in South Korea, he soon enough made his way to the United States. He has never been the biggest, fastest or strongest player on the football field, but it is safe to say that his will to win is like none other. For this reason Ward has been able to overcome many obstacles on his way to becoming one of the best players in the NFL.

Ward started his football career at Forest Park High School in Georgia. During his high school days he displayed great athleticism from his quarterback position which led him to being named the Offensive Player of the Year in Clay County for both his junior and senior seasons. He also excelled in the classroom where he managed to receive a 3.81 GPA.

After high school Ward decided to take his game to the University of Georgia. Although he played many positions in college, Ward was primarily used as a wide receiver. He finished his career with 1,965 yards on 144 receptions. Being that he also played running back and quarterback he ended up amassing 3,870 total yards of offense.

Despite a solid college career, many NFL teams passed him by in the 1998 Draft. But with the 92nd overall pick the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to choose Ward. This ended up being one of the greatest selections that the Steelers have ever made on draft day.

During his time with the Steelers Ward has been named to four Pro Bowl Teams, and was also named the team’s Most Valuable Player on three occasions. To go along with this he was named Super Bowl MVP in 2005 after he led the Steelers to victory.

Up to this point Hines Ward has had a great NFL career, and it is safe to say that this is going to continue for many years to come.

Tennis shots and court position

Chop stroke.

------------

In Tennis, a chop stroke is a shot where the angle towards the player and behind the racquet, made by the line of flight of the ball, and the racquet travelling down across it, is greater than 45 degrees and may be 90 degrees. The racquet face passes slightly outside the ball and down the side, chopping it, as a man chops wood. The spin and curve is from right to left. It is made with a stiff wrist. The slice shot merely reduced the angle mentioned from 45 degrees down to a very small one. The racquet face passes either inside or outside the ball, according to direction desired, while the stroke is mainly a wrist twist or slap. This slap imparts a decided skidding break to the ball, while a chop "drags" the ball off the ground without break.

The rules of footwork for both these shots should be the same as the drive, but because both are made with a short swing and more wrist play, without the need of weight, the rules of footwork may be more safely discarded and body position not so carefully considered. Both these shots are essentially defensive, and are labour-saving devices when your opponent is on the baseline. A chop or slice is very hard to drive, and will break up any driving game. It is not a shot to use against a volley, as it is too slow to pass and too high to cause any worry. It should be used to drop short, soft shots at the feet of the net man as he comes in. Do not strive to pass a net man with a chop or slice, except through a big opening.

The drop-shot is a very soft, sharply-angled chop stroke, played wholly with the wrist. It should drop within 3 to 5 feet of the net to be of any use. The racquet face passes around the outside of the ball and under it with a distinct "wrist turn." Do not swing the racquet from the shoulder in making a drop shot. The drop shot has no relation to a stop-volley. The drop shot is all wrist. The stop-volley has no wrist at all.

Use all your wrist shots, chop, slice, and drop, merely as an auxilliary to your orthodox game. They are intended to upset your opponent's game through the varied spin on the ball.

The half volley.

----------------

This shot requires more perfect timing, eyesight, and racquet work than any other, since its margin of safety is smallest and its manifold chances of mishaps numberless.

It is a pick-up. The ball meets the ground and racquet face at nearly the same moment, the ball bouncing off the ground, on the strings. This shot is a stiff-wrist, short swing, like a volley with no follow through. The racquet face travels along the ground with a slight tilt over the ball and towards the net, thus holding the ball low; the shot, like all others in tennis, should travel across the racquet face, along the short strings. The racquet face should always be slightly outside the ball.

The half volley is essentially a defensive stroke, since it should only be made as a last resort, when caught out of position by your opponent's shot. It is a desperate attempt to extricate yourself from a dangerous position without retreating. never deliberately half volley.

Court position.

---------------

A tennis court is 39 feet long from baseline to net. There are only two places in a tennis court that a tennis player should be to await the ball. 1. About 3 feet behind the baseline near the middle of the court, or

2. About 6 to 8 feet back from the net and almost opposite the ball.

The first is the place for all baseline players. The second is the net position.

If you are drawn out of these positions by a shot which you must return, do not remain at the point where you struck the ball, but attain one of the two positions mentioned as rapidly as possible. The distance from the baseline to about 10, feet from the net may be considered as "no-man's-land" or "the blank." Never linger there, since a deep shot will catch you at your feet. After making your shot from the blank, as you must often do, retreat behind the baseline to await the return, so you may again come forward to meet the ball. If you are drawn in short and cannot retreat safely, continue all the way to the net position.

Never stand and watch your shot, for to do so simply means you are out of position for your next stroke. Strive to attain a position so that you always arrive at the spot the ball is going to before it actually arrives. Do your hard running while the ball is in the air, so you will not be hurried in your stroke after it bounces.

It is in learning to do this that natural anticipation plays a big role. Some players instinctively know where the next return is going and take position accordingly, while others will never sense it. It is to the latter class that I urge court position, and recommend always coming in from behind the baseline to meet the ball, since it is much easier to run forward than back.

Should you be caught at the net, with a short shot to your opponent, do not stand still and let him pass you at will, as he can easily do. Pick out the side where you think he will hit, and jump to, it suddenly as he swings. If you guess right, you win the point. If you are wrong, you are no worse off, since he would have beaten you anyway with his shot.

Your position should always strive to be such that you can cover the greatest possible area of court without sacrificing safety, since the straight shot is the surest, most dangerous, and must be covered. It is merely a question of how much more court than that immediately in front of the ball may be guarded.

A well-grounded knowledge of court position saves many points, to say nothing of much breath expended in long runs after hopeless shots.

The power of the nevada gaming commission

The Nevada Gaming Commission was established by the Nevada Legislature to oversee all gaming operations that take place in Nevada. This oversight starts with investigating prospective owners for gambling licenses from a local bar to a mega million-dollar casino. Whether the person is the owner or just a key employee of the corporation in charge of the gaming part of the operation, this person must be approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission. This authority is final and there is no appeal.

Another oversight function is to see that the establishment that has gaming on the premises is operating properly according to the gaming regulations. This includes honest equipment and service people. The Nevada Gaming Commission can make sure that a casino has enough cash on hand to pay out a large slot win or keno win. Another function, but extremely important to the gaming industry, is the settling of disputes between the customer and the casino or operator. This unbiased arbitrator of the dispute will listen to the facts and render a binding decision on both parties to the dispute. This could be for example a dispute about a slot machine and whether the payoff is correct or not. If the machine is found to be malfunctioning the NGC will probably find for the casino. If not the player will get the money. The customer with a complaint can request the gaming people to come and take a look at the problem at any time day or night and seven days a week. This shows how serious the Nevada Gaming Commission is about keeping the gaming problems under control.

When a prospective owner applies for a gaming license they must supply details of their life as if they were trying to get a top-secret clearance. The background check is extensive and the cost is born by the applicant. This can amount to a substantial amount of money for the applicant.

An applicant from a foreign country would have to pay all of the expenses of the investigators and for a language translator. In one such instance, the cost of the background check was over one quarter of a million dollars.

There are some truly bizarre situations that show up in the hearings, which are open to the public. In a companion article to this one some of the stories will be related for fun and enjoyment of the reader.

Just remember that the United States has the Constitution and Nevada has the Nevada Gaming Commission.

The stories from the hearings held by the Nevada Gaming Commission are absolutely spellbinding and just too good not to pass on.

There is the one about a cattle rancher from east of Reno who wanted to put a couple of Poker machines in his small bar. His bar was the center of the small town that he called home. When he appeared the Nevada Gaming Commission board wanted to know more about his armed run in with some folks from the BLM (Bureau of Land Management). He said they were insulting to him and he ran them off with the aid of a rifle. They were mistaken about him killing protected animals on the land. It was later shown that some city folk were using these poor animals as moving targets. When he told his story, he was believed and he got his license.

Another story involved a man of Italian descent who was told he was being turned down for his Nevada gaming license. He asked why and they told him in the public hearing. Seems their investigators had turned up an incident where he and another man had held a man by his feet out of a fifth story window and demanded payment of money owed to them. He was flabbergasted and asked when this was supposed to have taken place. When they told him the date and the city where this unusual collection procedure had take place, he replied I have never been there and you have the wrong guy. It seems he was right and the person who did do this had his name and birthday exactly to the spelling and the date. He was granted his license when he proved he was somewhere else on the day in question.

A final story is the expense of gaining a license with no guarantee of success. An Asian man paid for his investigation to the tune of over a quarter of a million dollars. The expenses include the cost of flights from Nevada to his country and the food and rooms used during the stay there. Another expense that was needed for the American investigators was a translator so they could conduct their interviews. At the time of the hearing there was no decision made on his application at that time.

The final story is the owner of a Reno casino who broke the rules and was told he had one month to close his casino or sell it. Seems he was caught cold putting dollar slugs in another casino's dollar slots. He was getting rid of the slugs that had been played in his slots. That short sighted move cost him dearly as the fire sale of his casino was not the way to sell it.

Orienteering basics

The art of orienteering is a trendy sport that hearkens back to the days of olde. It was once a skill that every soldier needed to have to maneuver across unfamiliar territory. The exercise turned out to be so exciting that it had to graduate into a sport. It is quickly catching on and it is easy to see why - anyone can do it.

1. Orienteering

After the second world war, the popularity of orienteering skyrocketed. By then compasses had become a lot more reliable and could be used fairly easily as opposed to the clunky and unreliable compasses used by the early pioneers of the sport.

2. Anyone Can Do It

Today, anyone can join orienteering events. They are also a mainstay of Boy Scout and Girl Scout camporees a testament to the accessibility of the sport. As orienteers increase in skill so does their courses. In tougher course, technological gadgets such as GPSs come in handy and are indispensable as the orienteers equipment.

If you are planning on learning the sport for enjoyment, you will be glad to know that the sport is for all people or most ages. As long as you are fit enough to run and can read a map well enough then you can join this event for fun or for competition.

3. Events

Sprint events are speed events. The goal of the game is to get from the starting line, through the control points, and to the finish line as fast as possible. This is one of the most common types of orienteering events and can be participated in by individuals or by groups.

Relay events involve teams of competitors that usually take a mass start. The team with the least total time each team members time is added to the total time is declared the winner. To avoid clumping of competitors and the dogging of those ahead teams usually follow different routes. This makes the game fair for all those involved.

Score events give participants a set time to visit as many control points as possible. The control points may be of differing scores. If this is so, then the object of the game is to garner as many points as possible. The points may vary depending on the difficulty of finding the points.

Night events force the participants to navigate in the dark. To keep visibility acceptable reflective gear are used. These courses are challenging yet fun for experienced orienting enthusiasts. Many of the major orienteering events have night courses to spruce up the challenge.

String events involve the use of a string to guide the participants along paths. This is used by children and adults who are new to the orienteering sport. It is a great way to get initiated in the way of the orienteer.

4. Gear

In order to properly consider yourself an orienteersman, you should have the proper gear. Such gears include maps, compasses, running gear, gaiters, GPS equipment, backpacks, and running attire. There are also cleated shoes that are especially designed for such events. But typically, any shoe will do as long as it holds out in evil weather, and gives good traction even when wet. Orienteering attire can be made of nylon or lycra. Gaiters help enthusiasts battle itchy and troublesome undergrowth and shrubs. Other than that, all you need are the maps and compasses to get your bearings.

How to deal with difficult terrain when hiking

If you're hiking over relatively flat, ordinary terrain you'll need to be able to keep a steady pace with regular (short) rest breaks. Different types of terrain, such as steep or slippery slopes, creeks or even higher altitude trails make that very difficult and your techniques need to adjust to match the situation.

Slopes and Higher Altitude Terrain

The biggest change when hiking uphill or at higher elevations is the amount of strain it takes to cover the same distance. Going uphill means you're fighting gravity and it will take more energy to do so.

At higher elevations, there is less oxygen in the air and your heart will have to work harder to get the necessary oxygen to your body. These things need to be kept in mind when tackling these types of hikes.

Monitor your heart rate to be sure you're not being overworked. At rest, it should be about 70 beat per minute (BPM) and a hard workout can result in 120-130 BPM for shorter periods of time. Ideally, you want to stay in the low - to mid-range for the majority of your hike.

If you allow your heartrate to get too high for too long, you could end up with High Altitude Syndrome, also known as Acute Mountain Sickness.

Rivers, Lakes & Other Water

Hiking in wet conditions can also require more energy but it also means that you are more likely to get wet, which can lead to other problems including discomfort, blisters and loss of body heat.

Wearing the proper hiking gear is important in these environments. Make sure your boots are waterproof and high enough that they won't get completely submerged. It's also important to wear waterproof clothing and have a backpack that is waterproof to keep the gear, food and other items you're carrying dry.

When you come to a river, if there is an alternative to fording it, it's best to take that alternative. It might mean hiking a little out of your way to get to a bridge or a narrower spot, but it's better than stepping out into the unknown.

Cold temperatures, undercurrents and slippery bottoms are just a few of the possible hazards when crossing a river.

What you can learn from the merry mex

I love to listen to Lee Trevino talk about the golf swing. If there ever was a self-made man, Lee is certainly it! The Merry-Mex learned golf the hard way, sneaking onto golf courses and caddying when he was young. He practiced long and hard when he was a young man in Mexico diligently honing his craft.

Lee certainly has a great understanding of the golf swing. Lee's swing is a bit unorthodox as he reroutes the club on the downswing...not a conventional golf swing to say the least. One thing Lee Trevino understands very well is how the golf ball responds to the club face at impact....which is the only thing the golf ball cares about. Do you think the golf ball cares about how your swing looks? All it knows is what is happening at impact.

When I finally figured out what Lee Trevino was talking about it made a tremendous impact on how solidly I began to strike the ball. I know this is a clichй and you probably have heard it a million times, you must hit down on the golf ball to make it go up! Do you know what is really happening when a golf ball is well struck at impact? It took me 8 years before I figured this out...and it was Lee who finally explained it to me.

Most golfers "flip" the club face at the ball in a futile attempt to make the ball go up...if there ever was a move in the golf swing that robs you of power, this is it. Lee likes to imagine the back of his left hand is the club face while he is swinging. On the down swing he imagines "trapping" the back of his left hand into the back of the ball...an incredibly powerful move that keeps the golf club at a right angle with the left arm deep into the downswing. "Hit the back of the ball with the back of the left hand" is Lee's mantra. World famous golf swing guru Butch Harmon says he likes to feel like he has Bethlehem Steel in his left wrist at impact.

So what happens to the golf ball at impact when it is struck correctly? When you swing down on the ball at impact the golf ball actually spins up the club face to the top grooves. This is what the grooves in the club face are for...this is what gives the golf ball spin. How do you think pro golfers stop the ball on a dime on the green? They are using more of the grooves on the club face than amateurs. Golfers who flip the club face at impact are only utilizing the bottom grooves on the club face...the result; a weak, flat trajectory with little spin...Their left wrist has completely broken down at impact.

Watch the golf pros left wrist at impact...most of them have a bowed left wrist at impact...the opposite of the golfers who flip at the ball where the left wrist has broken down. This bowed left wrist allows a late powerful release into the golf ball...the secret to tremendous power off the tee.

Next time you go to the range, think "Back of Left Wrist Into Back of Ball" as you start your downswing. This mental image forces you to swing from the inside and retain the release deep into the downswing. The ball will start sounding different coming off your club face because you will now be hitting the golf ball the way the club was designed to strike a golf ball. Your golf ball will have a higher trajectory and it will go a lot further.

Try it...it works!

Hit 'em Long and Straight!

Lake lanier fishing variety and quantity

Located in the northern part of Georgia in the United States, Lake Lanier is one of the most popular destinations for fishing trips. With additional water being fed from the Chestatee River allowing numerous other types of fish to join the ones already in this man-made lake, it's perhaps not surprising that this stretch of water is so popular.

When it's at its fullest level, Lake Lanier can boast over 39,000 surface acres of water, which explains why so many fishermen enjoy coming here for their trips. With over 1100 kilometres of shoreline stretching between five counties, it's an easily accessible area to get to as well, making it an ideal solution for both the weekend and serious angler.

The variety in fish in the lake is what makes this waterway so appealing. Trout fishing is accommodated for here, with not only the common brown trout being freely available, both rainbow and brook trout can also be found, thanks to the cold waters that make their way from the bottom of the lake.

If bass fishing is more your angle, then Lake Lanier caters to those needs as well. Not only will you find the most common of bass in these waters, but two of the four kinds of temperate bass can be found in the lake itself, making it an extremely convenient one-stop shop for bass fishing.

Many serious anglers enjoy sport fishing, where there is a bigger challenge to catching the fish due to its size or fighting ability. With striped bass frequenting the waters of Lake Lanier and in excellent numbers, this particular type of fishing can be enjoyed in the peaceful surroundings that this stretch of water has to offer.

The different water temperatures that can be found at Lake Lanier also add to the experience, especially if it's a more challenging fish you wish to undertake. Depending on the ambient temperatures, which can range from the coldest days in winter to the hottest in summer, the striped bass will lie at various depths. If it's colder water, then expect the fish to lie deeper where there is less likelihood of a fluctuation in temperature. A spring and early summer trip will find the fish at their highest point, usually just under the surface, making for a relatively easier catch.

With the facilities on offer, such as a water park and a golf course, as well as comfortable accommodation in the guise of either hotels or lake houses, the surrounding area around Lake Lanier makes for a pleasant experience, too. Even if you have a family and they don't share your enthusiasm for fishing, there's so much more to do that everyone can enjoy a vacation there, leaving you with the reason for going in the first place – excellent fishing.

Golf basics - about greens

Knowing how to drive and putt are not the only things you need to learn about playing golf.

Golf being an outdoor activity you play on a living portion of land, and as in everything else out of doors, Mother Nature loves to play this game.

Grasses are different; you might encounter a plush putting green or a weed patch with little growth at all. The putt can be altered by the texture, length and texture of the grass, and how much grass is actually there.

A true golfer doesnt play only on sunny days with no breeze, it is quite common to see a golfer with an umbrella (to protect the clubs) playing in the rain.

Like any other outdoor activity, the rain changes how you putt a golf ball.

You will also come across a condition that is created by man, that is recognized by few golfers, this is called the “lumpy donut” however this is not a real threat.

In the United States you will most likely be playing on one of two types of grass:

Bent is a cool weather grass found in the northern states, it is soft with fine blades growing close together, and this creates a carpet like texture. It cant take prolonged heat or humidity.

Bermuda is used in the warmer climates; it is a strong weedy grass that handles warmer climates and humidity found in the southern states.

The blades are long, broad, shaggy and sparser; golfers describe it as a wild shag rug which causes the ball to rise and fall in and out of the blades. Bermuda also has a grain, the direction in which the grass grows.

Their differences create very different playing surfaces for golf.

Balls will roll truer on bent grasses and the break will be caused by the slope of the land. With Bermuda your shot can be affected by uneven growth patterns in the grass.

The place to identify how your shots will react to the different types of grass is the practice green.

Rex grossman 2003 draft day picks

Rex Grossman was born on August 23, 1980 in Bloomington, Indiana. At an early age it was evident that Grossman was going to be a great quarterback. Not only did he have the skills to excel at this position, but he also had the mental capacity as well. Grossman has not disappointed by being a success at the high school, college, and professional levels of football.

Grossman began to play football while in grade school and by the time he reached sixth grade he was a full time quarterback. While at Bloomington High School South Grossman had a great career. When everything was said and done he had thrown for more than 7,500 yards and 97 touchdowns. This was capped off by a senior season in which he passed for 44 touchdowns, which included one game where he had six. Grossman led his team to the 5A state championship in the state of Indiana during the 1998 season.

After high school Grossman decided to take his game to the University of Florida. Although his college career got off to a slow start, as soon as he settled in things started to look up quite a bit. During his career at Florida Grossman set many records both at the school as well as in the conference. This included a passer rating of 146.77 putting him on the list as the third most efficient passer in the history of the Southeastern Conference. For his college career Grossman tallied 9,164 yards and 77 touchdowns.

With their first pick in the 2003 NFL Draft the Chicago Bears selected Grossman. Although Grossman struggled during much of his early career, he finally made strides in 2006 by leading the Bears to the Super Bowl. While Grossman and the Bears wound up on the losing end of the stick, this showed fans and the team that he is a capable starting quarterback in the NFL.

Orange bowl tickets are for more than just a football game

Orange Bowl tickets offer football fans and travelers several options. Not only is the Orange Bowl one of the premier college bowl games every January, but the game itself is located in one of the most exotic travel destinations in the United States - Miami and South Florida. Fans and families alike have worked their vacation and/or travel plans around this game, and a look at its history and other attractions will explain why the Orange Bowl is always worth the effort to see.

Game History

The first Orange Bowl was played in 1935, when Bucknell defeated Miami 26-0. For 33 years, the Orange Bowl was basically an “at-large” bowl game, in that the bowl committee chose the best two teams it could attract. However, the Orange Bowl started its history of tie-ins in 1968 when it began to host the champion of the former Big 8 Conference every season.

This tie-in remained in place until the late-1990’s, when two things happened that change the landscape of the participants. The first was the formation of the Big 12 Conference, as the Big 8 basically added four teams from Texas after the now-defunct Southwestern Conference folded. This may or may not have had a direct effect on the teams invited, but another event in 1998 led to a shift in the game’s participants.

In 1998, the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) was formed, and this changed the alignment for all of the “major” bowl games - the Orange Bowl, the Sugar Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl and ultimately the Rose Bowl. A system was put in place to manufacture an on-field championship game between the two top-ranked teams every season, and each of the four new “BCS Bowls” agreed to host the new national championship game on a rotating basis. Therefore, every four years, Orange Bowl tickets give fans the chance to watch the national championship decided on the field. As of now, when the Orange Bowl is not hosting the “big” game, they will host the ACC champion after that conference’s recent additions.

Overall Event

The Orange Bowl is much more than a football game. In fact, the game itself is a culmination of a week-long celebration in Miami. There are parades, parties, receptions, and even a high-profile college basketball tournament called the Orange Bowl Classic. This year’s tournament will feature national champion Florida, and the games are played in town.

Not to mention, there is an event even within the game itself that’s as famous as the football battles that take place - the Orange Bowl halftime show is perhaps the most famous halftime performance in all of sports, and every year presents a new and intriguing theme with stars of music, sports and film making appearances. There are many attendees who are at the game specifically for the halftime show.

Overall, the Orange Bowl is a legendary event. The games are always battles between two highly-ranked teams, and several national championships have been decided in Miami. However, Orange Bowl tickets also give fans the chance to see much more than college football under the Florida sun in January.

Footwork and balls table tennis training

Table tennis can be a fun and rewarding sport to play. With the proper training, and with acquired skills and endurance, anyone can learn to play table tennis well. More popularly known by its trade name, ping pong, table tennis may seem like a ballet when watched, but it can be difficult to learn.

If you are interested in playing table tennis, then you will benefit from table tennis training. Whether you are playing the sport as an enthusiast, or as a prospective international competitor, then you need to know the basics of the game, its rules, and even the physics that govern it.

In a nutshell, table tennis is played by two or four players, who face each other on opposite sides of a table, and are separated by a low net. Each opponent needs to keep the ball in the air, and they do this by hitting it with a paddle or racket from one side of the table to the other, or by bouncing the ball on the table if the force exerted by the paddle is insufficient to send the ball farther. Scores are awarded to the opposing team if the other team is unable to hit a ball that is in their capacity to hit.

There are two main skills that you will learn when you engage in table tennis training: speed and spin. You need to hit the ball at high speeds, and you will need to think on your toes as well, as table tennis is a very fast game. You will also need to give the ball a spin when you hit it with your racket. This spin can change a ball’s flight path, making it difficult for the other team to estimate the proper location with which to hit it. The best table tennis players can hit balls at speeds over a hundred kilometers per hour, or at speeds approaching seventy miles per hour.

Games can also be won by a good racket. Also called the bat, a racket will have two sides coated with a rubber mat. You can customize this rubber matting by estimating what speeds or spins you are comfortable with. When you are able to hold the racket expertly in your hand, and shift from one side of the racket to the other, then you can explore the advantages offered by the different table tennis racket rubber surfaces.

How you hold the bat can also make a difference in your play. In addition to building your endurance, table tennis training will make you find what holding position is comfortable for you. In general, there are three different holding positions for the table tennis racket. You can hold it as you would a pen, giving you greater grip, but less control over what rubber surface you choose. You can hold it like you would hold a hand in a hand shake, giving you more leeway to spin the racket and change your surfaces, but lessening the power of your grip. An experimental grip, the V-grip, combines the advantages of both grips, but needs skill to use and learn.

If you are interested in training to play table tennis, contact your local gym or physical fitness program for availability of table tennis courts. When you start your training, begin by viewing videos or DVDs to aid you in understanding the game. You may also need to do hands on training while watching table tennis training videos or DVDs, such as when you are instructed on how to hold the racket, or how to position yourself when you start playing.

Table tennis is difficult to learn, but with the proper training, you will be able to play it with some skill in no time. All you need to do is practice, take care of your gear, and you can enjoy table tennis and the exhilaration it can offer.

Football gambling line statistics

When gambling on football you must look at the football gambling line statistics . Football game lines are set by casinos to try and split the action down the middle. Football point spreads are not used to predict how much a given team will win by. Casinos just care about splitting the action. For instance, if Carolina is favored by 3 over Atlanta. The casino just wants to even the action out. They may move the spread to 3.5 or 2.5 to get more bettors, and to make the action more even. If all the bets came in for Carolina and Carolina won, the casino would take a huge loss. Casinos are not into gambling they are into making money. Splitting the action down the middle ensures the casino will make money.

Football games normally end with one team winning by the following amounts: 1,3,4,6,7,10,11,13,14,17,20,21,23,24,27,28,and 31. I call these key points. When you see .5 added to a spread be careful because it could be a trap or a great deal. .5 can make all the difference in the world. If you get a spread of 5.5 then the .5 does not make a huge difference because most games don't end with a team winning by 5. But a spread of 3.5 or 2.5 can make or break you. You must learn to read the gambling line statistics to determine why the casino placed the points where they did and why they moved a certain line.

Lastly when betting on football remember this, you are betting against the general public not the odds makers. The odds makers know everything the general public knows and they are trying to split the action based on the public's knowledge. So the real question is "is the public wrong for this game?" For example the Colts lost Peyton Manning, now everyone is saying the Colts are going to get blown out. That is public perception, are they right or wrong? A couple of tips, normally when ESPN or any other sports guy is hyping a team, don't listen. These guys just hype the team of the week. Also in the NFL the underdog wins a lot more than college.

Prepare to drive tee off

I will advise how to prepares to play tee off (drive), which if golf players know the right approach and get proper training as a routine, as a result , this will help you to play tee off shot effectively and also help improve your score.

Step 1. Make sure you pitch the tee correctly by leave the tee top high enough , this could be measured by when you lay the top of the driver on the ground, the top of the ball have to stay higher than the top of the driver. Also, you have to make sure that the ball lay straight to the inner feet foot. As a result of this approach, the direction of the ball and the carry distance greater than putting the ball lower than the driver and hit at lower approach and if golf player can do this approach correctly, the direction of the ball won't deviate and go to the desired target. However, if you are in the situation that you must tee off against the wind, you should pitch the tee lower and adjust the ball position right to the middle between your legs in order to avoid the wind deviate the direction and power of the ball.

Step2. After you finish placing the ball for tee shot you should turn back to stand behind the ball again then look through the ball to see the desired target in order to mark the ball’s drop point. meanwhile, you should also consider the direction of the wind, position of any obstacles and the slope of the fairway etc., then you can approaching to the tee drive.

Step 3. Grip by using only left hand first in order to arrange the proper angel for driver to touch the ball (square or right angel) and in order to arrange the driver to line up with your left arm.

Step 4. Put the driver’s head down behind the ball, to make square angle to the ball pathway, then separate feet and bend down the knees in normal approach. This will help to control the direction of the ball to be straight line. Besides, this approach also help you to estimate how much the distance you should keep far from the ball before driving. don't try to reach to the ball because if you do so, the driver will not be in the right position. You can check whether you are in the right approach is your hip, shoulder have to line up on the same line of the ball’s pathway.

Then use the right hand grip the driver but do not move your body, otherwise, you will lose the right position, as a result, the shot will become slice shot.

The position of the ball before tee off is also important. The driver will first touch the ball a bit when you do up swing positioning the ball at the left foot and this approach will bring the full power of your shot so you can drive the ball as far as you can.

May I remind you that an effective drive shot requires extensive practice and training and this definitely worth your time and patient and you can improve your scores.

New baseball cards offer classic collectibles

Baseball cards have been an irreplaceable part of American culture for over a century. Giving collectors a chance to see the stats and pictures of their favorite players, baseball cards have come a long way in the past decade.

As some collectors grew weary of the traditional baseball card format, the card companies needed to find a niche that would help boost the excitement of their product. They found exactly that through the use of numerous advancements in the trading card field. Now that the baseball card companies see that their buyers like the thrill of chance when it comes to getting specialized rare cards, there are numerous sought-after types of cards available. For instance, one of the industry's top companies, Topps, has found a host of ways to keep collectors interested. In their latest set of cards, they've offered up the opportunity to get cards that are signed by the players that they represent, giving you an exciting sense of possibility every time that you can open a pack. Also, they've begun to place actual pieces of game memorabilia within the cards. You may end up opening a pack and getting a piece of fabric directly from the jersey of one of your favorite players, or even a chip of their bat.

With all of these opportunities for hungry collectors, baseball cards are in more demand then ever. The specialized memorabilia cards feature extremely limited print runs, allowing for a high value to be assessed for the unique cards. Some of the more unique cards for the best players may fetch upwards of hundreds of dollars. And the game-used memorabilia cards don't necessarily have to come from players that played the year the cards were printed - if you get lucky, you may find yourself with a piece of a bat used by Joe DiMaggio! That can add a very interesting prospect to sports card collecting - it's almost like buying a lottery ticket! Sure, some of the cards may cost more by-the-pack, but it's clearly worth it to have such an exciting chance to get close to your sports idols.

Introduction to argentina soccer

Ok, you know all about the passion for soccer in Brazil from Ronaldinho's promo ads, but what about Argentina soccer? Why is it that a country that suffers and lives for soccer equally as the Brazilians don't get their fair share of spotlight time?

Admittedly, one of the reasons is its smaller trophy room in comparison to Brazil's (2 titles in 4 finals for Argentina, 5 titles in 7 finals for Brazil) but still...In order to do it justice, I decided to accustom you to football in Argentina.

Argentina soccer was organized in amateur or semi-professional local championships at the dawn of the 20th century and despite the fact that Argentina's national soccer team played its first match in 1901, don't think it was the same type of national team you would have today. Most of the players, spotted in the semi-professional championships formed up that 1930 World Cup finalist team, after which most of them returned to mediocrity.

In 1931, the first professional country-wide championship was instituted, although not all teams were affiliated to the national association. For example, only teams from Buenos Aires, Avellaneda and La Plata formed the championship structure in the first years, with teams from Santa Fe or Rosario joining later on.

This early championship called the Metropolitano did not allow other provincial teams to join and due to increasing demand, the Argentina soccer association finally created a fully nation-wide competition in 1967, called the Nacional.

For several years, the Nacional and Metropolitano championships were played separately. The Nacional was a 1-group championship, of which the six best teams would be eligible to take part in the Metropolitano next year. It would be until 1985 that Argentina soccer would hold this structure, after which the Nacional became the main championship.

In Argentina, football holds two "seasons" as of 1991, named the Clausura and Apertura (the closing and the opening), and played as two distinct single-round championships. Each year, relegation is calculated based on a three-year average and the 2 teams with the lowest average are relegated, with 2 teams with the highest three-year average from the lower division are promoted.

I have to admit, this system they adopted for football in Argentina was a bit weird at first and needed some getting used to. But I can also see the advantages of such a system.

There are 5 teams that have dominated Argentina soccer ever since the Metropolitano championship was created: River Plate, Independiente, Boca Juniors, San Lorenzo and Racing Club are fighting for the title of Champions each year, for the past 50 years or so.

Unfortunately, it's a case of "rich get richer" and smaller teams have less and less of a chance to be crowned as Argentina soccer champions, with these 5 (especially the first 3) dominating and monopolizing the competitions.

It's these 5 clubs that launched many of the greatest Argentina soccer players on the world stage, although most of them transferred to powerful European clubs after only a few years at their home clubs. A few noteworthy examples include Alfredo Di Stefano (River Plate), Diego Maradona (Boca Juniors), Juan Roman Riquelme (Boca Juniors), Daniel Passarela (River Plate), Esteban Cambiasso (Independiente) or Guillermo Franco (San Lorenzo).
